Yeah, but your opinion doesn't matter, pussy. There's tons of bands that suck worse that have already been inducted.
In all Halls of Fame a certain amount of time must pass after a bands peak years to insure the music has legs. That's one reason. There is a lot of politics, too. Bands like Chicago who have hit after hit and millions of record sold haven't gotten a whiff from the HOF. Deep Purple, Jethro Tull, The Moody Fucking Blues, Yes . . . lots of major 60's and 70's Rock acts still haven't been named. 80's acts are just starting to get nominated. I don't like half of these bands either, but if they let in a one-hit wonder like Del Shannon, you'd think these bands had the chops and legs for the HOF . . . someday.
Kiss should be inducted, hmmm, Motley Crue, I don't know. Def Lepard, I'm going no on that one, I mean they were popular but they weren't trailblazers, I'd like to see more punk bands get in. The MC5 should be in based on being a pioneer in punk rock, Social Distortion, Black Flag, Misfits, Dead Kennedys, should all be in as far as i'm concerned. Especially since people like Michael Jackson, who isn't rock n roll, and bands like Blondie and Abba are in, which aren't rock either. At least punk is a sub genre of rock n roll. Hell Public Enemy made it and they had 1 song with Anthrax that could be considered a rock track.
Rush is one of those bands musicians love but no one else seems to like. They definitely have a cult following but they are one of those bands that people either love or hate.
Probably. But sales is perhaps the only criteria that is unambiguous and objective. Still Laura Nyro is in the HOF and she was not a big commercial success, just a huge influence on the music of her era.
So hard to separate personal bias from who should be in based on career and contribution. Kiss and Maiden should definitely be in.
