all you did was make another vague claim by listing the part of the constitution you think the patriot act is violating. you dont say how, you dont tell me where, nothing specific, even though i ask over and over. you provide no examples of people who have had thie rights trampled. i can rephrase my request for specifically what violations are happening a few more times if you would like.

i didnt assume anything, you made a mistake, i corrected it. claim you did it on purpose, and it will be obvious you are lying. your best bet is to forget about it and accept your lesson. its no big deal. plenty of people dont know how to use the words they are trying to use.

so again i ask you, how is the patriot act hurting us? is the government wiretapping your conspiracy theorist meetings?

Due to time constrictions I will let it speak for itself. Chaos, at least look at it.

Ouch! Thats kinda like back when I used to box and getting hit in the face because I was lazy and didn't keep my guard up. :hihi: Note to self: read the definition of words you've never seen before.

Ah ha ha ha. . . I thought this was going to be really off the wall stuff (because God knows the ACLU has done some wacky stuff).

But the only three on the whole page I disagree with are the child pornography item in 02, the AIDS admission in 88 and the tax exemptions for Satanists in 89. They were right on everything else.

Surely you can do better, Salty. . .

At this time I would kindly suggest that you review the past few pages of this thread. Each of your issues have been addressed, despite the most feeble attempts of yourself and others to discredit them.

Here is the section that decimates the 4th amendment. It's pretty cut-and-dry:

There are plenty of other sections that relate to the expansion of intelligence, which are nothing more than ‘ins’ to gather individuals’ personal information. If you agree that the government has a desire to accumulate the personal information of its people, which you have, then it’s quite easy to make the connection. Again, and I’m not repeating this after this, so listen up: if that does not bother you, fine. There is an inherent difference between the ways that you and I perceive the government and its pursuit of citizen control. You trust the government more than I do. That’s your problem, not mine. Further, you know damn good and well that regardless of how well I presented my case, or how specific I get, you will only regurgitate your continued theme of “so what?” You’ve become entirely too bogged down with the idea of defiance to ever admit that the other side has what you deem to be a legitimate case.

Wrong, yet again. You assumed that I lacked familiarity with the term. Do you know what the word ‘err’ means? Maybe you can look it up if not. You act as if you’ve never written ‘there’ when you should have said ‘their’. Again, I know you believe that focusing on petty mistakes might somehow compensate for your non-existent argument skills, but that’s simply not the case.

I read every one of the entries on that page.

First of all, I could very easily invoke your commonly used technique of source decreditation in that this is a site that appears to exist for the sole purpose of denouncing the ACLU. That's a hell of a lot more bias than you will find on CBS!

Secondly, I could continue the decreditation by stating that most of the claims it lists are vague and only very loosely tied with factual data. Many of them are nothing more than subjective assertions.

Third, I completely agree with Mysticalillusion. Yes, the ACLU has defended the rights of some people that I sincerely hope burn in hell (like NAMBLA). However, if you take a close look at the cases presented, it’s easy to see that the common thread is the pursuit of constitutional and civil liberty preservation. Our rights and freedoms as Americans are NOT limited only to those whose lifestyle YOU deem appropriate. That’s an important thing to remember.

Given the length of some of your posts, you'd have to admit that it's an honest mistake.

i give up, i see you have no intention of telling me specifically where people have been unfairly violated.

That's because no one has been unfairly violated. The only ones who have anything to fear from this are the ones who have something to hide. Law abiding citizens can continue their day to day activities as usual. Who cares if the "man" is watching. I still say that all of this is backlash from the hatred of Bush. The left (or middle, or front, or whatever, after this thread I'm not sure anymore what to call them) is forever going to despise him and anything that his administration try to accomplish.
