red, dont you see now what i meant about the inadequacy of your one axis political spectrum? today's conservatives are just as close to fascism as today's liberals. they only differ in what part of your life they think the government should control, more or less. like i have been saying, there are multiple axes (i think that is the plural?) because the current parties are not consistent in whether they favor the individual or the collective. only wonderful people like me are consistent.

of course that quiz is sort of worded to make people think they are libertarians, which is fine, and it places me on the furthest libertarian corner.

nah, i think it's worded pretty fairlly. good point on fascism. people's first response to such allegations is usually one of ridicule. but if you closely examine the meaning of the word, and take a serious, critical look at politicians these days, it is very well supported.

As for one being on the far side of the spectrum from the other, I agree. Its not control as much as it is condoning. I guess you are right, as far as the statement goes. It doesn't give the whole picture though. It's not just the issue of control but why we want to control this or that. Your not following me on this are you? My reasons for wanting a certain issue moderated are different from someones on the left. For example:

[/font]I believe that this law should have stayed in place. I agree with it in principle and anything that will help protect our children is good.

I don't believe the left looks at the whole issue on anything. All they see is something that is somewhat restrictive. God forbid they are restricted in anyway. You would almost believe that they all wanted to send nude pictures to little kids. I don't think that is true, in most cases, it just gives that impression.

What is wrong with what he said?

I think, as far as control goes, it's a question of "no rules" or "just enough rules to keep everyone in check" more or less.

I think it's hard to take a test like this and base it on what, like 8-10 questions? But it did nail me pretty right on. I'm equally centric and liberal on these questions, although i'd say i'm more centric overall.

Looks to me like you are more liberal overall.
Just another example of "I'm not a Liberal!"
