No excuse for fumbles ... Saban's doghouse awaits him :dis: ... especially if he keeps fumbling like he has in practice also ...

Look, teams are keying on Vincent ... and trying to knock the living **** outta him ... he's a great back and still should rush for 1,000+ yards this year but he needs to just hang onto the ball ... I think he'll snap out of it and start to break some long runs soon once LSU passing game comes along

 

You sure about that? Obviously you aren't, because Justin only fumbled once.

 

Addai had a fumble too. It seems to me like there could be a couple of footballs being carried around campus this week.

 

Saban commented on the TOs in the post game press conference with Hultberg. He said the team is playing more agressive with the right mind set thus playing that way you tend to have a few more TOs. He did say that they will work on it but seemed quite pleased with the effort.

JV is not going to get benched for two fumbles, fewer carries yes. I think JV is more of a victim of the offseason work that Broussard put in to make himself better. In the words of Saban, "Alley has the chance to be special"

JV is not running like last year for what ever reason.. Way to much dancing in the backfield allowing pursuit to catch up to him and the O line to get tired of blocking for him. Broussard hits the hole and looks like the O line gets a little bounce when he is in. Even if Broussard get hit, his shoulders are square and legs driving and he moves the pile.

On the fumble issue that is what seperated JV from AB last year was AB had a few drops. That appears to be the best way to get in Saban's dog house.

 

I agree. I guess Ramah got spoiled watching Vincent catch fire last season that he's forgotten that the guy's still only a Sophomore, and after this season, has got another 2 full years ahead of him.

IMO, any of our RB's could be "the starter", but with the talent that we have back there, they're ALL starter material. We might be the first team in history to have a RB depth chart listed as: 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d instead of 1,2,3,4. Broussard is just a different runner. With his size, he bullies his way through the line and has the speed to pull away. Broussard takes a modest hole, and can turn it into a big gain whereas Vincent, at this point, requires a little more blocking upfront--but don't think he can't generate the same type of runs.

Broussard = brusing running back.

Vincent = balanced RB with pretty good hands

Carey = slashing back. He's so short, he poses trouble for the DL. They have a hard time finding him. All he needs is a crack in the line and he shoots through it.

Addai = balanced. Has some power (appears to have a little more power than Vincent, but I don't think he's as fast).

Basically, you can take any of these 4 RB's and win a game with them without having to adjust the offense. They're ALL damn good and we've proven that they can all be effective and used in a game. All of them could have a 100 yard game on any given Saturday.

...and on a side note....for all the hardcore NFL fans.... doesn't Ali remind you of Edgerrin James?

 

Vincent got better as the O line improved last year. Vincent has to have a hole, but once he is past the line of scrimmage he has a great ability to make linebackers and DBs miss. He has quick feet. Broussard seems to have more explosion to hit the hole. He is obviously a more powerful runner. I enjoy the surprise on the DBs face when they realize that Broussard is not going to try to avoid a collision. He is going to steam roll them if he can.
