The conventional wisdom is that the home team should accept overtime in those situations, and road teams should take chances to win in regulation. I think two things conbined in Miles' mind to result in all those 4th down attempts: 1) Lack of faith in Colt David. 2) Faith in Hester and the offensive line to convert short yardage situations.
Don't often disagree with you, but in this case I actually don't understand why he'd lack faith in Colt - the kid's been kicking great up to now. He missed two tonight, but I don' think Miles flinches that easy - I might be wrong. At any rate, his 4th down decisions bordered on reckless (but I still LOVED them as a fan) and I think had he gone 2/5 or worse, the title of this thread would be Fire the Hat, not Fear the Hat. The team came through for Coach Miles tonight.
I argued (to myself) with acouple of them, but i loved the result and you have to love a guy that has that big a set. wow, unbelievable.
