why would they need a political stunt? Trump lost the last election by 7 million votes and as the head of the ticket oversaw the Democrats taking the House and the Senate. Trump is a political loser and the Democrats hope that he is the nominee so he can rally his 45% of the electorate and lose by several points again and ensure that the Republicans lose the House and Senate again. It would look more political if they were going after DeSantis, who is actually a threat to Democrats. Trump isn't.
