So I’ve read the article and agree that a president has fairly unlimited power to declassify. I’m amazed but accept the proposition. so I have a question; why didn’t Trump or his attorneys tell the DOJ and others he had done so? Surely that should have stopped at least that train of investigation. Could it be he did nothing and after January 20 2021 he had no power to declassify the first documents. Why did his attorney lie about having documents? Surely Trump hires only the best and brightest right? Another question is that whether the documents were classified or not he had no rights to keep them. They are government documents not his. Why didn’t he provide a list of documents he had, as required by the National Records Act? His predecessor who had millions of documents brought to Chicago provided documentation that was checked and accepted by the records office. The premise of the warrant was that Trump was holding documents he had no right to. The fact that apparently classified documents were found adds to the issue. Regardless of his power when in office I would bet the burden of proof lays on him. Brick by brick. He’s building a better wall around himself than he did at the border.

They are claiming that they found classified documents, but then, experts say that all of the documents were declassified under a standing order by Trump when he was President. What it really all comes down to is media propaganda, and a lot to do about nothing. We really ought to pass laws against this crap.
