Got to throw in the AU game in '01. Beating them in that game was the first time we won the West outright and set the tone for the SECC and BCS bowl wins.

I bet that kid had some bruises from his 'interrogation' later that night at the station.

It wasn't my son's fist game (he went to Tulane, Miss St., BAMA), but when we scored at the end, he started jumping up and down with his fists raised above his head. I know there's no way in hell he could see anything. He's about 3 ft nothing, and everyone in the whole section was standing up. I think he just reacted with the crowd. The smile on his face that night was absolutely priceless.
Of course him yalling "Tiger Bait" at the top of his lungs to the Greenies for the Tulane game was quite enjoyable too.

Auburn botched a few kicks that night if my memory serves me right. My heads still a little fuzzy from drinking so much that day/night. It was one of the loudest crowds that I remember. Poor Vaughn....

The first thing that came to mind for me was when our trombone player stood his ground against the little chump kicker for Auburn. I believe the halftime show ran long because we allowed Auburn's band to perform. Before our band could finish their show, Auburn's kicking team took the field. In a typical Tommy Tubberville-coached fashion, the AU players acted like asses and tried to disrupt the band. Our band won!

In 2000, I had an opportunity to sit in the student section for the first time in 15+ years. We defeated Alabama and the student section stormed the field. Of course I joined in and soon found myself wrapped around the goal post. The field crew had greased the poles so everyone was sliding off. I hugged the pole to allow 5-6 students to climb up my back. The pole finally snapped which was a weird feeling. Reliving your youth can be a stupid and dangerous thing to do! :hihi:

Lee Greenwood singing "Proud to be an American" shortly after 9/11 was also one of my favorite moments. Everyone was standing with their head held high, singing at the top of their voice, and the nation watching on television. That was an awesome moment! :911:

My favorite memory or moment is being a freshman and tailgating before my first football game of my LSU academic career. Watching the band come into the stadium and sitting in the student section for the first time with friends then watching the pregame and those first few notes…. And getting chills all over my body and tears in my eyes and thinking “what an awesome place to be, to be a LSU fan, student and to watch football in this great place”. Then the military jets flying over the stadium and the game beginning. Then being hyped up all night and not being able to sleep because of LSU football.

I don't know how many of y'all went to the Bama game last year but, the fly-by for that game might have been the coolest thing I have ever seen...That's including seeing a fly-by with stealth bombers at the Indy 500 a few years back.

1985 Colorado State: OK, so it wasn't an important game. But it was the first time I marched down the hill, and I wasn't ready for the crowd. Believe me, you may love the band marching down the hill, but it's even better when you are doing it. The Pregame that night was awesome. Colorado State didn't bring many people, so the South-west corner was filled with LSU fans, who probably didn't go to many games since they didn't have season tickets. When the band turned to that corner to play the salute, it looked like 20,000 people reaching out to jump on me--I almost fell backwards even though I was standing on over 25 yards away. I will never forget that sight as long as I live.

1987 Ohio State: After Earle Bruce wouldn't bring the team out on time, the crowd got so loud that Tom Tupa couldn't get the FIRST PLAY off. He turned to the ref for relief and it just got louder. Awesome.

1986 Notre Dame: My brother, who was a student at Auburn at the time, attended the game and was incredibly impressed with the entire experience. I was very proud. The game was pretty good too.

I was there and can honestly say that scared the bejesus out of me. The Star Spangled Banner had just finished and I had reached down for my coke ,so I wasnt looking when I heard the rumble begin. My first thought was "terrorist attack". Then i saw the planes .I swear they were lower than the bowl before they pulled up although I dont think they are allowed to fly that low. After it was over,my wife who couldnt stop laughing says" you should have seen the look on your face" .I have to admit that flyover was pretty cool.
