I was a little off as well. I thought it came out more like '88/'89. 327, with the assist, says '87. I gotta trust him, which would have made me 10 when it came out.
I had to READ that in 3rd grade and do a book report..I never could get around the dogs dying and the kid going to visit their grave..the book was awfully sad!
"Father Goose" was almost as good. Grant was an underrated but extremely funny comedian. I love a good curmudgeon film.
I love "Father Goose"! I need to let my six-year-old daughter watch that sometime soon; I was around that age when I saw it for the first time. Others I left off my list: "The Sound of Music" (both of my girls LOVE it) "Giant"
I loved the Rockys, Smokey and the Bandit, and the Star Wars. Also, just heard a song on the radio that reminded me of one. The song was "Send Me an Angel" by Real Life. It played during an awsome scene in a BMX movie called "RAD". I loved that movie when I was a kid, I used to try those tricks and bust my ___ all the time in the driveway at home. I'm actually trying to find a copy on DVD but having no luck.
NICE!!! One of the things I was going for. That movie that nobody knew or saw but was your favorite! Nice contribution!!!
Actually just found a Torrent download of it! My kids are gonna think I'm nuts after I watch it about 10 times once I get it burned.
I still love "The Music Man", definitely my all-time favorite musical. Loved "Big Jake" too. "It's a Mad,Mad,Mad,Mad World" is a great comedy from the 60's, and if you can find it, Blake Edwards' "The Great Race"...Jack Lemmon is at his absolute funniest. But...the movie that would stop me in my tracks every time if I came across it on the TV was "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."
