What a way to begin a football season... 2011: LSU 40, Oregon 27 Sophomore Tyrann Mathieu sparked LSU early with his strip and score in the second quarter, part of a 10-tackle, two-pass breakup evening for the Tigers in Cowboys Stadium. LSU used a 1-2 punch of Michael Ford and Spencer Ware to move past the Ducks on a night when senior Jarrett Lee threw for just 98 yards. The Tigers would go on to an undefeated season and SEC Championship before losing the title game to Alabama. http://lsu.247sports.com/Gallery/LS...ners-since-2000-52954025/GallerySlides/565030 We began the season with what was my all time favorite game and ended with a game I will forever loathe - The ecstasy and agony of CLM's tenure.
That game is definitely top 3. But I really did love the Florida '07 game. I know Les was a mess, but that game, and the intensity, and what it did for us that season will be my all-time favorite under him.
The Ducks have played in two recent National Championships, two Rose Bowls, a Fiesta Bowl and more,.. but none of them matched the anticipation, the excitement, the emotion I felt leading into this game. The Ducks played Auburn for the crystal trophy to end the prior season,.. but the season opener at Jerry World vs the LSU Tigers felt bigger, much bigger. This is the game that brought me to Tigerfan. Man, how I would love to see this match-up happen again.
Did you go to this game? I was upper, upper deck. I looked down onto the large tv screen. I think i was 10-15 rows from the top
