The best fake blood is made from Karo syrup and red food coloring with some cocoa in it. The cocoa makes it dry dark and crusty, like real blood. And it is good on pancakes.
Speaking of syrup, I like maple syrup on my pancakes and waffles but real maple syrup is about $8 or $9 for a small bottle. So I make my own. Not quite as good as the real thing but very good: Stir 2 cups sugar into one cup of boiling water. Add one teaspoon of maple extract. That's it. Quick, easy and tasty. Sometimes I also like Steen's Cane Syrup
I have really gotten in to fresh ground pepper, recently. Of course, my wife and "Boomerang" daughter hate it. Par for the course!
As far as Cajun seasoning goes I usually buy Tony Chacherie's. I also like Zatarain's but almost any brand will work for me.
There is now Tony's Bold that has an even higher spice to salt ratio than the Extra Spicy. Good stuff, try you some.
At quick first glance I thought this thread was titled something else.....my vote is for Tony's, seasoning.
Get your mind out of the gutter. Oh, and try some TBoy's seasoning. I like that and Slap Ya Mama but find TBoy's to be a little finer and stay on better. Did not know they'd come out with that. I may have to try some.
Oh brother are we really back to this again? I'll check and see if Best Stop has their own seasoning.....
