Did u order your burger “animal style” .... or some such (the west coasters told me that when I ate at one in Dallas during a conference). It really did make a diff.
No, I did not. The very moniker "animal style" is so obnoxious, and besides, I like burgers rather plain anyway. And their fries are not good, either. When the In-and-Outs first opened in Plano and Frisco, the lines wrapped around the places 3 or 4 times, and cops were on crowd control. Ridiculous, really. I didn't try a burger from there until last year, and I was thoroughly unimpressed.
Tiga, @vball lives in taco heaven,.. great great Mexican food there. Driving down the old coast highway, from about Monterrey south,.. there are zillions of wonderful little mom n pop taco trucks and sidewalk stands,.. much better food than any Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. Fish tacos never sounded good until I tried one, so great,.. now I'm hungry again.
I had thought that fish tacos used grilled fish until I tried one. There was a piece of fried fish in each taco. I love fried fish but not on a taco with taco ingredients. The other night somebody told me they had eaten fish tacos. Turns out his were grilled fish. He had ordered through a food delivery app and couldn't remember which restaurant he had ordered from. There used to be a place that had shrimp tacos that were pretty good. Great place. Lunch special was 3 tacos, chips and salsa and a drink for $6.95 but they went out of business.
I see Whataburger didn't make the list - for good reason, too. Good thing they're open 24 hours cos that's about how long it takes.
