You simpletons act like you are gonna replace the AP vote or something with this fraud of a poll run by a couple internet junkies from Alabama. Listen guys, turn the page if you can. Last season is done. Enough already of this Auburn sympathy poll BS.
How bout another poll like, "Will Ga. Tech dethrone the Golf Digest Champs" or something else meaningful.

 

As the starter of this thread, I will say this.....

I posted this because its a "pick em" game that many people will be interested in and at the end you get to vote in a poll. Yes it was started by AU fans, but it is nothing but for fun. I don't think it will ever be a part of the system nor do I think the AU fans believe it will. It is just a site that is getting the "fans" perspective. It might end up pretty big, but will never play a role.

I like many of you consider AU our biggest rival and to be honest I really don't like AU :hihi: .....but some of you need to get over your obsession with your dislike for AU. Had this site not have been started by an AU guy, I bet most of you would be onboard (its a pretty cool and fun idea). Had LSU been left out of the 2003 NC game, you can't tell me that LSU fans would have reacted the same way AU fans did.....and hell we even had a loss.

 

No, simpletons like yourself attribute that to us, but that's just because you can't get past your own personal dislikes and biases to see things clearly.

As geauxscott said, it's for fun. It was for fun last year but in your bitterness toward AU, you couldn't admit that. The kid had a good concept and numerous business people thought so too, which is why they've invested money in it to make it better, more inclusive and representative and more fun (prize drawings, pick 'em games, etc.). People from a wide variety of schools are involved now and even more will be added.

So you can keep playing your "hate Auburn" parlor games but it doesn't change the fact that this poll will be fun and successful with or without your participation. Any and all LSU fans are welcome to be involved, but no more so than any of the other 118 D1A schools that will take part in it. Truth is, you know geauxscott is right...if anyone other than an Auburn fan had come up with the idea, you'd think it was fun and cool...or at least you wouldn't say anything about it one way or the other.

 

i am onboard. yeah its a cool site but so is ratemyrack.com with oooh corporate sponsors.

the problem is people are trying to spin it as a legitimate alternative to the current poll system. The fact I can register names with 119 different team faves is simple proof enough there is zero legitimacy about it so just be upfront. call a spade a spade.

its just another fun site theyre trying to make money off of like a billion other sites. its not re-creating the wheel. I like the bamagrad dude disguising as such to make it seem more real as well. thats a nice touch which really almost convinced me that bummers and barners are frying possum together.

an average site...but tahoes are cool.

maybe our resident member berge can submit everyone's polls here as part of the bcs next year since he's accepting them too with enron as a corp. sponsor to legitimize it.

 

tirk, it's called "fun". Look it up sometime. No one is pitching it as "just as legitimate as the current poll system." No one is proposing that it be included in the BCS. It's just being pitched as a voice for the fans, being that they probably get to watch just as many games as the average media member or coach that votes. No, we don't have all the super-secure ballot procedures they have in place.

It's a web poll and there are people paying attention to things to make it as realistic and representative as possible. The people who get to vote at the end will have to have demonstrated considerable skill during the year in picking winners of games. But no one claimed it was 100% foolproof. You're just behaving like a dork to combat a point no one has made.

 

what more do you want. I said its a fun site, nothing more.

props to you. i have fun all the time at ratemyrack and at your fun site. i like both.

You know, it's funny. Of all the boards where this has been posted and discussed, despite the issues with last year's version and all that...this is the only place where there has been any flak at all. Go figure.

geauxscott, I appreciate you putting this out there for LSU fans to know about. Sorry if it's put you in an awkward position.
