Right and as I pointed out, employers can set many rules that employees must follow or be terminated. That doenst make you a Nazi...
Right, Players are free to protest or not. Owners/NFL are free to embrace the protesters or fire them, or anywhere in between. And we're free to consume their product or NOT. God Bless America. BTW, the Star Trek Discovery cast took a group photo of themselves kneeling in support of the protesting players. I can imagine the episode where the plot is a thinly veiled nod to the kneeling players. I can't wait to not watch the series.
If I were Trump, every time I was around Democrats I would just play the Anthem and have them all bend the knee to me.
Ok here is a funny story... Back around 1992 I was stationed in 29 palms. Foreigner and the Dobbie Brothers came and gave a free concert. The base general decided he would open the concert to the public. At the beginning of the concert the general came on stage and told everyone at sunset we would be performing colors and politely informed the civilians that the should turn and face the colors as they were lowered. So when the time approached and the concert was stopped some jackass about 10 people in front of me started mouthing off. The Marines around him told him to stfu, his response was typical f you etc. As soon as the last note sounded. Olboy was thrown to the ground and got the living shit kicked out of him. So here comes the mps with the dog, and the dog took a bite out of shithead. And then to add insult to injury the mps hog tied ol boy and carried him away. That was one of the funniest scenes I ever was witness too.
I think you make a good point, but its also clear that the NFL has decided they're OK with the protests. So now its in the customers' hands.
The NFL doesn't know what to do. They are afraid to anger the players for fear of a walkout or strike. At what point does the diminished revenue from disgusted fans outweigh the cost of cutting anthem offenders?
Strike? On what grounds? This is not a First Amendment issue. "Congress shall make no law," it says. The NFL has the legal right to control how its employees act on the playing field, or any other time they are representing their team or the league in public. They do it all the time.
60% of Americans say Orange Shitgibbon was wrong for criticizing the NFL player(s) who made a silent knee protest: http://www.cnn.com/2017/09/29/politics/national-anthem-nfl-cnn-poll/index.html
