what would you rather? Be a fullback and short yardage back? or to not play at all? Because Keiland and Murphy are both ahead of him as of now in the everydown stuff.
4th and 1s....I can definitely see that. Is Ridley not coming along as hoped? He was thought to maybe be the replacement for Hester in terms of short yardage situations.
He looks pretty good. But he is still practicing with the freshmen for now, so it's hard to fully judge until he is doing it against the RJFs and Tyson Jackson's of the world.
He doesn't seem to be that bummed, least publicly; http://www.nola.com/sports/t-p/index.ssf?/base/sports-38/1218000061181860.xml&coll=1&thispage=1
Les Miles says Jordan Jefferson will definitely be taking some snaps this season, and as he put it “We’re talking about snaps to win games.” Interesting.
I think it is a must to get him meaningful snaps since all it takes is one nagging injury to move him up to the backup role. Can not take an chances and JJ is coming along but the reports out of camp show he is like every other freshman QB. He needs time to work on his mechanics and learn the playbook. However, he has shown he takes direction really well for a young guy.
There was never any doubt that Scott was going to be our power back this season. Like Hester before him, he's likely to play it from TB or FB depending on the formation Crowton is using. He's already got plenty of playing time at TB. Just because he's working primarily at FB this August, doesn't necessarily mean he'll never see the TB position again. I'd bet on it. Fullback at LSU is not used too much and even then it's primarily as a blocking back and Scott is too good to relegate to blocking back. LSU is also working the freshman TE at fullback. The SEC is a rough league and we're just an injury away from needing Scott at TB badly. As good a Williams and Murphy are, when Scott has been healthy, he's always been better.
