Islstl, muchas gracias.....I throw a post in every once in a while. Russert is a good interviewer but I'd bet my life he votes Democrat every time.
In other words, CNN's answer to The Ultimate Assclown Bill Maher's old "Politically Incorrect". Replace Tucker Carlson with George Will...they could stack a dozen libs against George and he'd still come out smelling like a rose every time.
Fox News, fair and balanced?    That cracks me up. Just look at their morning show. They might as well call it Republican News. I once heard their president speak. She was asked a tough question by a teenager. She got upset with him and wouldn't answer the question. Fox News Style.
"Fair & Balanced" is in the eye of the beholder. Looks like 88% of the respondants in this poll disagree w/ you.
That is b/c this forum is composed mainly of conservative to ultra-conservative thinkers. I could go to another board and 88% or respondents would agree with me did you know.
Have you watched the BBC lately Red? Last year they did a special on why the world hates America that was so stereo-typical, over-the-top, and outright bigoted and one-sided that it drew condemnation even from some British liberals. Parliament even toyed with the idea of revoking their government license. Last year, during the Iraq War, the BBC was sneering so much at coalition victories in Iraq that British sailors on the aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal demanded it be shut off. Sailors, in Her Majesty's Royal Navy, demanding that the Beeb be shut off for sympathizing with the enemy? A far cry from that network's glory days in World War II, when it was the voice of hope for occupied Europe and urged partisans to rise up against the Nazi thugs. They also never refer to any Islamic terrorist group, even al-Qaida and Hizb'allah, as terrorists. They are always "militants" or "dissidents." They now even call the Islamist/Saddamite murderers in Iraq "resistance fighters." WTF?!?!?! The BBC's blatant anti-American and anti-Western bias is one of the principle reasons why the U.S. currently has such a bad rap in world public opinion. And though I hate to keep beating a dead horse and bringing up our last president, this is something that Clinton is at least partially to blame for. Voice of America Radio deteriorated to nothing during the Clinton years, while the BBC's listenership/viewership actually grew just as it's slant turned from slightly left of center to hard left. Is Fox News perfectly centrist? Of course not. But they at least give the other viewpoint some airtime. The BBC is not even close to fair and balanced; it is all "America is Evil" all the time. And Fox News has not degenerated into ridiculous moral relativism; we are the good guys, they are the bad guys, and they recognize this. Meanwhile, the BBC gave Baghdad Bob's ludicrous statements equal weight to those of Secretary Rumsfeld. Give me a freakin' break.
Fair and balanced overall. I agree that the 3 people on their morning show are conservatives but, overall, Fox news is much more balanced than other news outlets, especially the broadcast networks. Fox News is a 24 hour network. Don't judge them by 2 hours of the day. And, I'll bet you gave CBS their only vote.
Red, this really worries me. I've made quite a few regrettable posts but how on earth could you call the BBC fair and balanced? no clue where that came from. Lottery: As far as this being a conservative board which skewed the poll and you said you could find one showing just the opposite...well, this is first and foremost a sport's forum. Go find a non political board with the opposite results and I'd be surprised.
