Along the same lines, it is apparent that the Saints are headed down the road to mediocrity again. Last nites play was uninspiring, the O looked completely out of sync only putting up 14 pts. Brees was somewhat timid in his play only being able to complete circus act passes down field and short post route patterns. The Vikings D was keying in on his reads and very few of the receivers had the opportunity to create any YAC do to poor execution and timing. Yes he threw for over 75%, but stats are misleading in that the majority of those passes were short slant patterns. The O was only capable of putting up a messily 300 or so yrds and the D couldn't get any pressure on Favre. If not for Favre being rusty he would have lit the Saints D up like a Roman Candle. Not to mention they were minus their top receiver in Simion Rice. The Vikings receivers were wide open most of the nite, but Favres passes were off. On top of all of that the Saints O line couldn't get any push to open up the lanes for the running game to be of any effect. The crushing blow is a kicking game that misses 2 FG's that any HS player could make. The luck for Sean and Brees has run out and it is apparent to me the continued downward spiral trend has the Saints headed back to an 8-8 season at best. This started in the end of last season as the Saints got schooled by Dallas and then proceeded to lose the last 3 games of the regular season. Barely pulling out a lucky win against this same Viking team that outplayed them in every phase of the game, with the exception of the scoreboard. It's time for the Saints to start looking for a new coach and see what can be done before this season gets away from them. Oh, wait, it's only the first damn game of the season. Never mind. Great win. GEAUX SAINTS. I'm not saying, I'm just sayin:grin:
Who is this "college football community" of who you speak? Other school's fan message boards? Sportswriters? The talking heads on ESPN College Gameday, built by Home Depot? Does it really matter one rat's azz what they think? Can you tell us what's being said about us in the locker room at 'Bama, or Auburn, UF or West Virginia? Theirs is the only respect that is important, and considering we still seem to be getting everyone's A game week after week, I would say we are still respected in the "college football community."
Everyone is entitled to their opinion including being critical of our HC. However, I wish those views could be set forth in one thread instead of the endless array that permeate the forum each day. Okay, thats my bytch for the day.
Mine too! Give it a rest guys. We all know how you (we) feel but this same shyt over and over and over again is just agonizing. There is no doubt the Tiger Nation has shrinking faith in Miles...NO DOUBT. However, it gets very old to see topic after topic basically regurgitating the same views in different words. Maybe we need an overall bytch topic so all the criticism can be confined in one place. Its becoming increasingly difficult to enjoy the forum with the constant drum beat of pot banger threads and Im not even a sunshine pumper or huge Miles supporter myself. I fall into the camp of disenchanted but even for me this is tough to look at and read.
The "Miles makes 4 mill a year" arguement is moot. According to the haters he backed into a NC with another coaches players. The season was successful in spite of him. That lead to his raise that was none of his doing. He can't help but be a "middle of the road" coach and make a ton of money. He deserves none of the credit. So leave it alone and wait for this "non deserving" coach wallow in medeocrity so he can be sent down the road after another 9-10 win season and we can get to the real business of finding a top notch high school graduate assitant to take the job.
I wounder how many coaches would take a contract stating 10 or more wins a year and the contract voids on anything less than 10 wins.... My guess, 0.
Good idea, I vote Mike London, who is currently undefeated at his school. That's a real winner, I tell you:hihi:
