Tough call. Britain's bombings were domestic terrorism, but the perps were immigrants with foreign loyalties. Something like that would not surprise me.

I thought that too almost as soon as I heard that, in addition to the Marathon, it was Patriot Day. You may recall that the Oklahoma City bombing also happened on Patriot Day (April 19 that year).

I had never heard of Patriot Day, although that's probably more my fault than anything else. I think that I read somewhere that every September 11th (after 2001) would be known as Patriot Day. Is this an "unofficial" Patriot Day?

If I get time later, I will try to look it up and possibly answer my question (if not answered before then).

Patriot Day is a holiday in Massachusetts. It's not really recognized anywhere else.

Patriot Day is now September 11th of each year in remembrance of 9/11. Massachusetts opposed this naming when it was created in 2002 since they have their own Patriots' Day.

I get a lot of questions when these things occur due to my past employment. I always say take everything with a grain of salt for first 4 or 5 days. I heard talking heads absolutely mis quote the guy I saw interviewed. Pathetic.

That was my gut reaction as well; an American who thinks he made a great political statement.
