True. But if someone tried to tell me that I was somehow to blame for KKK lynchings back in the day I would tell you to go fuck yourself and I sure as hell wouldn't apologize for them.
Not apologize for them.....condemn them and actively work against them in the grass roots. Do things like not allowing radicals to preach in mosques (internal actions by the members). Preaching the positive side of Islam. You're right they're not directly to blame but they have the responsibility to be the leaders of reform. This is a debate that will only be won internally by the greater Muslim world. What we're doing is wack a mole at best. It is up to those in Islam to bring their religion into the modern secular world. Right now the radicals are trying to pull it into the Middle Ages or worse. We can't be their minders they have to grow up and take responsibility for their children, the good and the bad.
It's not going to happen because the religion itself is not designed that way. There is no "moderate" or "peaceful" in a religion that states very clearly in its doctrine that it us v. Them. I'd say that one day you guys will all understand but by then it would be too late but unfortunately it already is.
You know in the Military they do this unique form of discipline. For example, If my bunk failed say the first inspection. I am likely to have punishment of some form. However, If I continue to be a dirt-bag and keep failing, my flight is now responsible for me. Regardless of how their inspections went. The DI puts the discipline in their hands from that point on as he turns his attention to reprimand THEM for MY actions. When that happens, the mistakes disappear.
I agree with you Winston, they have a major part to play in this. I was responding to the comment that we should "kill'em all" I've said all along that to beat terrorism it will take a multi-pronged plan of attack that most certainly includes members of the muslim faith openly decrying such behavior.
They wont do it until we do to them what we did to the Japanese. When in history as anything else worked?
Ok. Because that turned out so well. Does the center know that you are on the internet right now? When are visitation hours; maybe a few of us from the forum can pay you a visit and bring you some candy, tell you that we're all rooting for you.
Actually it did. The Japanese post WWII have turned out into a model society. You have mentally broken down like little Marco. Playing a game you are not ready for.
How Japan turned out after WW2 has nothing to do with interning Japanese-Americans. That's like saying that slavery is justified because Egypt is doing so well. I think your team would call this projection.
