    Auburn players are sometimes called "Plainsmen." The term comes from the same Goldsmith poem that Tigers comes from, "Sweet Auburn, loveliest village of the plain ..." Since Auburn athletes usually were men from the plain in the early days, they were sometimes called Plainsmen.

    I've always been of the opinion that Aub never could quite agree on what they wanted to call their team. Thanks for clearing that up for me, and your very timely response. I feel more "educated"...as I've "lurned" somethin today:hihi:

    It's the logo I made for the organization I started at LSU (while I attended for 2 years). The Cigar Enthusiasts of LSU. We had sponsors and everything until everyone lost interest after a summer break, I tried though and it worked out for the most part.
