Im not posting film and pictures to prove a point, its not the topic of this thread, JJ and the option. The point of the thread is top make a CLEAR difference in QB's, of which, I think we can't at this point.
As a pure passer JL is the better QB, but JJ has the ability to run that JL doesn't. It's too damn bad we can't just fuse the two into one complete QB.
At this point, all I care about is the fact that we still have a shot at the championship and there are only four more games of this bullsh!t, at the most. Watching JJ play is agonizing and Lee isn't much better but I just feel like he deserved more loyalty from Les this year. I can't wait to have a legitimate SEC level QB under center next year... Geaux Tigers!!
Excellent point. Especially with JL running the option tonight, and looking pretty good at it. I especially enjoyed his 15 yard run. Going forward, and this is geared probably more for Arky than Ole Miss, it will be difficult for other teams to gameplan for us. It is really a case now of not knowing what you're going to see regardless of who is playing QB. :geauxtige
Take it from someone who coaches big-time college football... he can run the option, or else he wouldn't be. Who outside of Navy and Georgia Tech can run an effective option in college football? Even they make plenty of mistakes.
This does not make Lee better and is the reason I feel most CANNOT see what JJ has done right this year....
The option is NOT meant to be the base of an offense. A well-coached defense will always shut down the option, like we did vs GT in 09. The fact that we can use it effective as a change of pace is all you can ask for. The option will always suffer when defenses can predict it coming.
