So .. this is what it comes to. I don't share your view ... so .. I just hate JJ. I'm a highschooler ... youth,. LOL. Yep .. I feel a tad more justified in remembering LAST YEAR, as opposed to 5 years ago. At my age .. I don't remember 5 years ago anyway. Yeah .. maybe I'm a little bent out of shape that JLee came in last year and saved the game ... several times ... but did he get to start?? NOPE. Lee has an off day, and it appears he's going to get the bench. Such reactions are not formed by anything other than witnessing it in the past. Hey ... if JJ starts, I hope we win. If JL starts, I hope we win. ... and I'm thinking about taking you up on that 78 point spread ... but, I don't know that I could live with my conscience if I did. ... plus, I doubt you'd have enough to cover the bet.
I never listed any 78 point spread and your childish comments about whether or not I could afford to pay, justifies your character, and by me choosing to leave it at that, justifies mine. You need to get over who's feelings are getting hurt. It's about winning. That is what CLM gets paid to do. Win! Not make sure he keeps people like you happy. Cause after all, it's safe to say that some Tiger Fans are so damn miserable in their lives keeping them happy is impossible! We are 10-0 and # 1 in the country!!!! You are still finding **** to bitch about! He gave JJ a start against WKU! Big phucking deal!! I think you are truly mad, because in your heart of hearts you saw that JJ looked pretty damn good and increased his chances of taking JL's starting job. Guess what, the best QB is supposed to start! CLM is going to put LSU in the best position to WIN. If he feels that JJ gives us a better opportunity, then JJ will taking snaps. If he feels JL is a better fit, guess what? That's right, JL will be taking snaps. Again, JJ just as JL has made some huge strides in his level of play from last year, that's a credit to Krags, so get over last year!!! Your hate for JJ is obvious and clear as day. It has nothing to do with whether or not you and I share the same view. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=30.070194,-95.534926
I have restrained myself from commenting on the QB situation, as I really can't decide how I feel about it. Do I prefer JL at the helm....yes. But I do prefer a more traditional, passing quarterback. It seems apparent that the CLM way is.....play great defense, run the football, take care of the ball, and wear down opponents. Clearly, against most of our competition this year, both quarterbacks were more than capable. The Alabama game brought out some weaknesses in both Quarterbacks. JL obviously threw a couple of bad interceptions, and seemed a bit rattled. Jefferson, while he took care of the football, held onto it too long in the pocket. It seemed as if he was afraid to pull the trigger. In the end, the Tigers are so strong from top to bottom, that they overcame JL's mistakes, JJ's reluctance, and did what they had to. They won. Not ugly. They won tough. LSU isn't going to face a defense like that again (I hope). Going forward, we need both quarterbacks doing what they do best. I guess my opinion is....I don't care who starts. I want them both to play. CLM is wise.
- Yep .. that was Kyle ... so I'll retract that. - Nope ... I even said JJ looked pretty good against WKU .. I just don't think the combo of JJ/Lee is better than Lee/JJ. [order] - yeah ..CLM is going to put LSU in the best position ... kinda like he did last year eh?? [Oh . that's right, it was all the defenses fault]. - AND .. as I already stated ... why is Lee Better .... because I enjoy the game more when he starts and JJ comes in based purely on comparing last year to this year. The offense seems to be more productive, and we are 10-0. It's my opinion .. sue me!
this is the way I see the 2. Lee, when given time, is the better pocket passer, and it's not even close. Jordan Jefferson when given time in the pocket is indecisive, holds on to the ball for too long at times, and has an awkward delivery. On the other hand, Jefferson's ability to scramble, (and Lee apologists don't talk about the 12 yard scramble Lee had in the 2nd half against WKU) forces defenses to respect the fact that he can take off at any minute. Jefferson's ability to extend the play in my opinion makes him a better all around quarterback than Lee. When Lee gets hit, or pressured, some switch goes off in his head, and you can forget about it. If I was an opposing defense, I would intentionally give up a 15 yard penalty and knock Jarrett Lee's dick in the dirt on the first play, because from that point on, he will get happy feet, throw off his back foot, try to force balls into impossible windows, and mentally break down. If we play a extremely fast and physical defense like Alabama's, Jarrett Lee is pretty much worthless. If we play a defense that has little pass rush, Jarrett Lee is a better option. We need them both at this point.
I think the idea of him getting rattled EVERY time he takes hits is overblown. When he has some early success in the passing game and he gets into a rhythm, he does fine. (Another reason I don't understand why they don't give him more short slants and screens.) He's taken some hard shots this year when he releases the ball, and he popped up and kept playing. His throws weren't there for Bama, AND he took some shots. Lee's main problem is not being able to mentally get out of a slump once he finds himself in one during a game.
Good points Lasalle ... but I"d counter .... that IF the Coaching Staff had to find a way to win with Lee, as opposed to having the option to "quickly" pull the trigger on Lee and replace him, he might would show a different side. He may be conditioned to shut down, because he knows that he is going to be pulled. He's not expected to pull himself up, and it doesn't matter if he does .. because he's not going to play anyway. OTOH .. if he had no choice [ie., we're going to leave you in there ..sink or swim] ... one has to ask ..what would he do. I think a different switch would turn on. Take the Bama Game for example ... screens and short passes designed to move the ball could have made Lee successful, but we saw none of that .... the coaches didn't have to figure out how to beat Bama with Lee, they just stuck JJ in there ... and thanks to our defense in OT, and Bama not having a kicker worth a crap .. we won. The coaches didn't have a choice in the first 4 games of the season ... they figured out how to beat good teams, OR, MSU, and WVU with Lee.
