And that's due to LSU's style of play, not QB We are not, never have been and never will be a shoot out type team. Well .... hate to respectfully disagree with you ... but if our D gives up an 85 yrd TD, our offense should have the ability to answer that TD with an LSU long and drawn out drive for a TD. If AR scores another 80 yrd TD, then again LSU should be able to answer it with a long and drawn out LSU style TD. By that time .. AR wouldn't have a chance to score the 40 yrd TD. The combo of JLee/JJ vs JJ/JLee seems to be better. I've actually enjoyed watching the games this year, and it's not just because we've won, but because the productivity and such has been much better. Which brings up another reason why Lee is better .. I fricken ENJOY watching the games .. I'm not on the edge of my seat waiting for the next 3-out.
BTW ... for discussions sake .. or argument, however you'd like to put it. .... your assessment of the game is not entirely correct. Sure, the D gave up some points ... AR had a darn good offense. But the tale of the tale was that LSU could not answer. LSU put up two good TDs in the first half. After that, it was nothing but FGs., because the ofense could not move the ball, or made a bunch of stupid mistakes. 3 shoud've been TDs turned into 3 game losing FGs. Had our offense been able to score TDs instead of FGs the entire second half, we might have won the game 35-31 and gone on to stomp OSU again. At the very least, even if only 2 of the should'a been TDs were complete, we would have at least tied it 31-31. forcing an overtime. Nope .. not buying it ... the D didn't play spectacular, .. but then, I remember being here and people cutting them a little slack, because our offense was so pathetic with 4 3-out series right in a row, that the D had to stay on the field the entire game and got gassed. Even when the D hand delivered a pick by Ried to a F.P. of LSU 49, all our stellar offense could do is move it 3 yards to the AR 48, and turn around and punt. I have ample reason, ... 2 years worth of it, to not want to go back to the JJ start/Lee relieve scenario. I personally would like to win a NCG.
U r missing my point. My point is, that our QB shouldn't have to answer 85, 80, and 40 yard TD's in the first place! Because if ANY team is doing that to our defense, they are taking us out of our element, the way in which we WIN and beating us at what we do best, destroying out defense. I no way shape or form you can blame that loss soley on JJ, that is just pure ignorance and shows your hate for JJ. Besides, it was last year. Do you want me to start bringing up Jarrett Lee's past???? I like the combo of JL/JJ as well, but just as I was with Lee I am now just as happy JJ's play, especially the last 2 games. even all year, Big TD to get it going against Auburn, Sustaining long rushing scoring drives against Tenn. He has made some nice improvements just as Lee has. I know you hate JJ, that is obvious, but you need to quit living in the past and just trust CLM. Just as i have ample reason to not wanting to start Lee as he appears to have reverted back to 2008 Lee, but I guess that's JJ's fault right?
jarrett lee is the better qb! he got us to this point for the most part and i believe it would be the right thing to label jj as a specialist! a guy who comes in and gives lsus offense a different look vs "impossible to move the ball on defenses"!
Maybe CLM started JJ in order to show that they have to respect his passing ability too. And maybe they had Lee run some to show teams that they have to watch his running ability. Maybe CLM is smarter than all of you guys. Maybe when we win the NC nobody will care who started which game. We will all remember JJ and JL as two seniors who shared responsiblities and won it as a TEAM.
