1. VEry good post, but as you said we can win UGA, ARK and Auburn SO can we win BAMA, UF and LOL miss.

Really every game we play we can win and also lose. Its up to this team....

LSU will come around at some point and be great..
  2. Christ.

    Now it is.
  3. Nice logic....you say we will be hyped up to #5 going into UF, yet you have us losing the week before to UG, How do we go into UF game ranked 5 if we just got beat by UG?

No one out there is impressing me too much. Florida without Harvin looks exactly like 07 Florida, Tebow and nothing else....they are not as good as last year.
  4. After beating MSU next week we will be about #5 in the nation. That's the hype I'm talking about.

I do agree with you that no one is impressing this year. Your analysis of UF seems to be spot on for UF's offense. Their defense is still very good. Probably Alabama, UF and Tenn have the top 3 defenses in the SEC and probably all 3 are top 10 in the nation.

I cannot wait until Tebow is gone and they lose a bunch of starters off that defense next year.

The team that is up and coming is Alabama. They are young, talented and very well coached. Sorry but Saban has done a tremendous job in his stint there.
  5. title of this thread: Expections for this Tiger team the rest of the way

I expect LSU to play better every week, me to drink more every weekend, LSU to win a few games and enjoy a W in a bowl game. Now if we catch a couple breaks we could have a great season, all of this rest on JJ...

Either way I am super pumped football is here.
  6. maybe so. i am a christian. but it's debatable whether he was "perfect" or not.
  7. Depends on what you mean by "perfect."

Then again, this isn't a board or thread for religious discussion.
  8. Miles certainly seems to excel with recruiting but some of that is just our recent sucess. many will say if Mile's team cant step up in the next two seasons that the 07 team was a left over from Saban. Note that I did not say that, but many will. as in media.

the ESPN desk comentators during half time said something like this. What was your impression of LSU's first half? Other guy said he has been waiting for this LSU team so loaded with talent to totally dominate a team from start to finish but that just hasn't happened. I agree.

I dont think we lack talent either. You get the feeling watching the offense that they are frustrated, on the verge of really cutting loose if they could just get the right game plan installed.

offensive line seems to get beat by speed too much for my liking. JJ is running for his life a bit too much back there. We are big up front and they say we are fast/strong..... Something's missing here.

the defense seems to be improving with each down. the front 4 on the defense arent playing up to expectations, its the linebackers and secondary that look better. We cant seem to get a pass rush going.

My prediction is that if the Tigers dont improve they are going to have a few tough loses in the SEC. I don't know which games they will lose if any, but EVERY team they play you have got to bring your A game. or they can upset you... this is the SEC.... Kentucky beat us in 07.

I think if the defensive front 4 bring their A game and the O line learns to open some holes and protect JJ, and most of all.

the coaches install something that is a little less obvious on offensive formations ( IE game plan )

then we have an excellent chance to lose less than 2 games.

if not well it could be 3 or 5 its anyone's guess. You have no way to factor in a poor performance from a good team we play on the schedule. thats why they play the game and not just declare a winner.

glad we got the win. If we stumble through the SEC with ugly or convincing wins... either way I'll take it just win baby!

  9. I like this analysis... pretty accurate from what I have seen.
  10. The realitiy is pretty simple and can be expressed without the sky is falling mentality or the Saban is god references. This team isn't expected to be MNC calibur this yr, but will be over the next couple of years. We still have areas of concern, but really who doesn't. This team gets a little better every week and will continue to. Are we gonna win every game pretty, no. Are we gonna lose a couple of SEC matchups, yes, but unlike last yr we will be very competitive and fight to the finish. I still say a 9-3 season, and with a lucky break here or there maybe 10-2.
