1. Sure this scenerio is possible, so is an undefeated season, but neither is going to happen. I don't know who it is that likes to pull up old threads, but I remember lurking back in 2007 and many threads like this one were popping up at around this same time. I even think this same poster headed some of them up, and look how that season turned out.
  2. LOL, you certainly have high expectatations for LSU!:dis:

We have a good football team, and they are getting better. I expect the same as I did before the season that they'll probably drop 3 games. Its a young team with a new defense, I can deal with it.

  3. Besides my interest in how we look against a pretty good ULL team, I'm going to be REALLY interested in the Arkansas - Georgia game. I think we all feel that UGA is going to be a tough game for us but if Arkansas looks really good or beats UGA then our already tough schedule is going to look even tougher. To answer the question though, I think we lose 3 this year barring some major injuries.
  4. Almost certain loss = Florida. I've seen nothing that says we can play with these guys.

Potential losses = Bama, Ole Miss, Georgia. It's very hard to win on the road against the SEC upper tier.

Trap game = Auburn. Sometimes a lower tier opponent catches you after a disappointing loss and hangs one on you.

Sure wins = all the rest. We blow one of these and we don't deserve to be ranked.

I'm thinking 9-3 with losses to Florida and 2 of the three big road games. 8-4 or worse if any of last year's problems return.
  5. what happened to enjoying the fn ride. and take a math class. you picked 6-6.
  6. I think by the time Florida rolls around this will be a better team. How much better is anyone's guess. I will count that as a loss along with possibly Alabama and Miss.
  7. ULL - W
    MSU - W
    UGA - W
    UF - L
    Auburn - W
    Tulane - W
    Alabama - L
    Louisiana Tech - W
    Ole Miss - W
    Ark - W

Florida is the only team we play that has looked like a great team thus far. Ole Miss, Bama & even Auburn have had their moments, but they are all beatable. I'm calling Ole Miss & Auburn as close victories because we should be able to get enough points against their defenses (this is assuming that our offense improves), while I'm saying we lose against UF & Bama due to their defenses. That would put us at 10-2, which I'll take. If we don't have quite a bit of improvement in our offense, we're either 9-3 or 8-4.

I honestly believe our offense will come around. We'll start to see it today, and it will be much improved by the UGA game. I think we're starting to develop an identity on offense & will know what works for us. I don't expect us to be a great offensive team, but a good bit better than we've been.
  8. I will not pick a record, it is difficult enough picking winners each week. My expectation for LSU, however, is a team that will fight, scratch, claw every game and will not yield. Stylish or not, LSU finds a way to win.

It is hard for me to believe folk have so easily given up on this team. Beyond talent, the team has heart.

  9. UF, UA & OM. 3 woodshed losses.
  10. These are my exact thoughts on this season. I believe we will be a 3 loss team this year and I'm actually ok with that. We have a tough schedule this year with the srength of the teams we play on the road and I think coming out of it with only 3 losses will be a success.

With that said, teams get better as the year goes on barring injuries. I could just as well see this team being a 1 or 2 loss team. It's just way too early to judge how the rest of the season will go. Have patience, relax, be a fan and enjoy this team and season.
