I also heard that they can't use margin of victory, but some use points allowed. Not quite the same, but if true than we owe even more to our awesome defense! And if true it gives Saban more reasons to keep the first string in more of the blowout games.

    ratings are very close

Essentially, the three teams tied. With this setup, each still has a chance to win the MNC. If OU had won, USC would have been eliminated.

Computer rankings can't use scores, but they can use stats like time of possession, total offense, total defense, passing yards, rushing yards. That's why the rankings have different results. The writers and coaches look at the USC/OSU game and see a 30 pt win. The computers are able to see things like the fact that USC gave up 500 yards of OSU offense. That stat alone may have been the difference in some of the computer ratings. (I don't know for sure what each rating looks at, but I do know each has a set criteria at the beginning of the season that they follow)

Check out the total ranking comparison at http://www.mratings.com/cf/compare.htm . That will give you a better appreciation of how some of the computers work. And guess what, when you average every computer ranking out there and throw in the human polls, you end up with the same answer the BCS came up with.

Biggest loss for USC this year:

Washington State losing to a horrible Washington team. I watched this game in its entirety. It was painful to watch. Washington started in Washington State territory 5 different times without coming away with ANY points. And they still came back and won!

This was the turning point for me in the hope of LSU catching USC for #2 in the BCS. This was USC's baby (Wash. St.), and someone threw it out with the bath water. I have never cursed so much in my life about a football game that I otherwise would have never considered watching.

FYI, Georgia would have stayed in at 10th in the BCS had OU defeated Kansas State.

FYI, Florida (LSU's only loss) finished 15th in the BCS and Washington State (USC's best win) finished 16th. Isn't that poetic justice. I love that shit.

There is something to be said for the fact that KSU (OU's only loss) finished 10th in the BCS, don't you think?

And had Florida not had to beat the Florida State Seminoles and the ACC officials simultaneously, Florida would have finished no worse than #9. I am still pissed about that game.
