I don't know what making up stories has to do with anything. You are pretty good at that. I don't know what that has to do with anything? I will say that ancient men walked and knew christ when he was on earth. Nowhere have I said that they knew more about nature and science. The fallacy of your logic is that you are making up stories. I don't know why you are saying things like this but if we aren't going to be intelligent about this than I'm outta here!
Fear of an afterlife with a buttraping unicorn is just as valid as fear of hell. Neither have any shred of evidence to support their existence. But thanks, my mother is a best-selling christian fiction novelist, so I think I have a disposition to creating amusing stories. Ancient men wrote down the folk stories that became the Bible, which became the only "evidence" for the existence of god. Then how did they know god when they saw it? If we can't do it today, how come they could back then? Why is their word the final say on the existance of a divine creator? Read the rest of the post. One of the Christians here made the claim that god didn't sacrifice his son. I posted scripture saying otherwise. Hence, I the atheist am more familiar with what the scriptures say than the Christian.
Evangelicals can be strange has moved to a different direction. Can we make a prove that God doesnt exist to another thread?
that seems like a waste of time. why would we do that? these rhetorical questions are not very thought-provoking. we are really at an embarassingly low level here. we are at the starting point. we should be past needing to examine whether not proving a negative means anything. lets prove i am not god. can't? ok worship me.
. lets prove i am not god. can't? ok worship me.[/QUOTE] NO PROBLEM DUDE.......MARTIN, come hither. When I smite thee with this 44 magnum and lay thee to waste, and thou riseth up after three days, then I will "consider" whether to worship thee or not. You see, I believe that I worship a risen God....a living God. None of the others mentioned as a God of some people overcame the grave. However, if thousands upon thousands of people just seem to have disappeared one day.................and then 3.5 years later, you are slain with a sword and come back to life and three days, then I will call you the "anti-christ." This would be during the tribulation period....seven yrs....... However, I do not plan to be here during that period...............:thumb: Shall we begin?:hihi: :hihi: I see at the bottom of the page that it is only the two of us on right now.....have a good day.
tons of people claim to have come back from the dead, re-incarnations zombies or gods or whatever. resurrection is one of the primary and recurring things you find in mythology. folklorists can wear you out with hundreds of these sort of stories. the other stuff, the virgin birth, the healing the sick, all that stuff, run of the mill legend, not extraordinary at all. the question is why your brand of superstition is better than anyone else's, the muslim, the zoastrianist, the hindu. the answer is that you have faith that it is. and unless we can get it through our coconuts that faith is not really an actual way of knowing things, then we will not get very far. what i hope i convey is that faith and mysticism, this stuff isnt really necessary. you can do without it. you might think you can't but you can. you can accept the world as it is.
