The Rapture vs Jesus' Second Coming. Rapture: 1. Believers are caught up with Jesus in the air: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 2. Believers are taken first, non believers left behind: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 3. Purpose is to present the believers to God the Father: Revelation 19:6-9 4. Happens in a twinkling of an eye, no war mentioned: 1 Corinthians 15:52 5. Believers are changed to incorruptable and go to Heaven where they do not marry and are immortal: 1 Corinthians 15:52, Matthew 22:30, 1 john 3:2 6. Jesus descends with a shout and trumpet: 1 Thessalonians 4:16 7. No man knows the day or hour: Matthew 24:36, 1 Thessalonians 5:4-6, Revelation 3:3 2nd Coming at end of Tribulation: 1. Jesus touches his feet on the Mount of Olives: Zechariah 14:4, Revelation 19:11-21 2. Wicked are taken away, people saved during tribulation left: Matthew 13:28-30 3. Purpose is to execute judgment and set up his earthly kingdom: Zechariah 14:3-4, Jude 1:14-15, Revelation 19:11-21 4. Doesn't occur in twinkling of an eye, global war, no shout or trumpet: Isaiah 63:1-3, Revelation 16:16, 5. People populate earth after tribulation, death still occurs the people still on earth are corruptible, marriage still occurs: Isaiah 65:20, Revelation 20:7-9 6. No shout or trumpet mentioned during Jesus' coming at the end of the tribulation: Revelation 19:11-21 7. Exact day of Jesus' second coming can be calculated, which is 1260 days after the abomination of desolation : Daniel 9:24-27, Daniel 12:11-12, Revelation 11:2, Revelation 12:6, and 14, Revelation 13:5. The rapture and Jesus' return must be 2 different events because they are completely different in nature.
we could use a bible interpretation thread. we could talk about what we think the bible means, and how best to apply scripture to our lives and whatnot. there seems to be a lot of difficulty here with everyone not on the same page as to what exactly god wants from us, who is infallible, who is going to hell, that kind of thing. at least most of us can agree that the bible is the one right book among the thousands of religious texts. if we had a muslim or jew up in here all hell would break loose.
What I don't get is why people can't see the truth about Overlord Xenu and his explosive volcano of aliens? Time to go search far and wide...
LoL ...Red every post I have on here is one paragraph because I dont know how to start the next one .I know I am a computer idiot . Any help explaining to me how to start the second paragraph would be greatly appreciated.I cant seem to get a second indentation....and ...kudos to you for being the one to notice...I am impressed.
you dont have to indent or anything fancy. just press return a couple times, like i just did. i cant read your posts, the lines run together.
Since there seem to be more than one on here who believe in the rapture,I won't quote each one.First, the Rapture scriptures 1 thess ch 4 verses 13 through 17 .The subject in 1 thess ch 4 13 -17 is "where are the dead" Paul is telling us to not be sorrowful about those that have died because if you believe Christ died and rose again ,then those that have died are with Him and when He returns He will be bringing them back with him.WHEN is that? At the trump of the lord....which is the last one .Or the furtherest one out in the greek....the Seventh. Next ,Paul was a Hebrew scholar. He learned Greek but it was not his native language....so it has a great many colloquialisms or Greek slang ...everyday sayings. English has tons of everyday sayings or slang that seem to change monthly.Does the word "Queer " today mean what it meant 100 years ago?.Or how about this phrase "That is a hot car."This could mean that the car is stolen, fast,or a bad ass machine, but it probably doesnt mean that you will get burned if you touch it.Paul uses the phrase of "in the clouds" to mean a mass of fellow christians."In the air" means our spiritual body or breath body .It doesnt mean we are going to fly up into the atmosphere. He uses the exact greek slang in hebrews ch 12 verse 1 where he talks about running a foot race in the clouds. It isn't a literal foot race in the atmosphere. He is talking about running this race we call life as good as we can even though sin creeps up all the time. Second,Matthew ch 24 the left behind verses. Christ is asked what it is going to be like prior to His return. He then comments on the events, famines ,earthquakes etc etc..Then he gives the parable of the fig tree. Then He says "it is going to be like it was in the days of Noah, when the evil knew not until the flood took them all away" WHO was taken in the flood of Noah ?The very next verse is for there will be two women grinding at the mill .One will be TAKEN and one will be left. Now you rapture idiots say i want to be the one taken...take me ...take me.Christ is telling you to be patient and wait ...to be left doing Gods work instead of falling for the lies of the fake christ who comes first.HOW can you get I want to be the one taken out of this verse??? ... This is why I say you people who believe this nonsense cant freaking read.HE just said the evil were taken and you stand there screaming to be next up and to not be left behind.
Speaking in tongues or glossolalia . Just one more of the fabricated teachings of evangelistic churches. When Peter spoke in tongues in Acts ,he was speaking to a group of people who spoke different languages. They all understood in their own language down to the dialect of the village in which they were born.Example, you stand before a crowd speaking English and a Frenchmen hears in French and the Japanese man hears in Japanese and the Chinese man hears in Chinese etc etc etc. That is what happened in Peter's day with different languages ,of course. And one day it will happen again. That would be evidence of God However, the evangelistic teaching of an "angels" language or Glossalalia ,uttering gibberish is a bunch of crap started in about 1900.
