Paranoid is not the proper word to describe my post, I am by no means paranoid just making a argument, you did say that.
I did not fail at anything the last numbers I had were 9-12... I don't think all the 16 are scholarship... either way LSU is way over and they plan on signing more. Look, acting like that isn't going to stop the so called negative press on this. What is funny is, they didn't really say anything new, most of this was well known about LSU and no LSU is not the only one.
Use google, the moon is not made out of cheese but I am not going to spend hours trying to convince someone that has no need for the Truth that. Use google, you'll find all kinds of oversigning info on LSU from all kinds of sources, you don't have to believe me.
In other words, you're either too lazy to show me this "evidence" you claim to be sitting on, or it doesn't exist. The best you can throw at me is semantics? Pathetic. I've really tried to give you the benefit of the doubt about the whole "Les-bashing" thing, and now I see those people were right. I won't be wasting any more time on you, welcome to the ignore list.
No, I am not going to waste my time showing you anything, you don't want the Truth. You want me to lie to you. If you can't use Google then you are just here to waste time and to help convince yourself lies are truths. I wouldn't say you are lazy at this point, you just don't want the Truth. LSU over-signs, this is a fact. There is nothing for me to do if you don't like it. There was nothing wrong with the piece, LSU oversigns, if LSU doesn't want to be known for this kind of behavior, the solution is simple... stop doing it. I fail to see the problem to be honest.
No, I didn’t give an opinion. My only comment was in regards to that you only come out of the woodworks when there is something negative to talk about. That said, now I will give my opinion. I won’t say that I completely agree with over signing, or the way Miles may have handled this particular situation. I will however, support that fact that Miles let the kid go after Garrett had been repeatedly talked to about his work ethic and his attitude. Letting him go for poor performance is a valid reasoning, and one that should be supported by fans of any program. Over signing is a common practice, not limited to LSU. Is it right, it depends. If it is done with some level of logic, as many have explained throughout this thread, then yes. If it is done, as Nutt has done, out of complete disregard to the needs of the athlete and the program, then no. Signing 10-15 too many players is irresponsible. Signing 3-5 to cover the programs needs, based on not necessarily knowing if the kids will make it thru the NCAA clearing house, is expected. Which is what Miles and his staff do, for the most part. Will there be the occasional get caught with your pants down and sign more than that yes, but when it is the exception and not the practice then it is acceptable. Why will it never change. Well my opinion on this runs along the same lines as the reasoning behind why the NFL signs too many players. Each team originally brings in 20 -30 too many players. Invites them to camps or drafts them in the later rounds. There is no guarantee they will make the squad, they have to earn it. They have to prove the deserve to make 250k ++++ per year. If they don’t they get cut. Well it is the same for college athletes. They are offered the opportunity to play for a college team, where they will get the benefits of a full athletic scholarship. They may sign their LOI, and the university may offer them the scholarship, but they have to earn it, year in and year out. No different than the NFL. NFL players, even the veterans, have to earn their way onto the squad every yr. If a new blood comes in and out performs them and shows the promise to be better than them, well they are cut. It is the same in college. Each year the programs bring in new recruits and the existing players have to earn their scholarship again. Proving that they are still better than any prospect that is brought in. In Garrett’s place, he didn’t. Other players came in and outshined him. It wasn’t really all that hard. The kid had turned into a lazy, complacent, and non productive liability. He was replaced, but only after being given ample opportunity to prove that he wanted to stay. He didn’t seize the opportunity and the end result is he is now a walk on for Ole Miss. Hell the kid couldn’t even cut it in a DII program, why, because he doesn’t put in the effort. Now, if Miles did do some of the things he is being accused of, in regards to not manning up with the kid, I completely disagree with that. Miles does owe it to these kids to tell them, face to face, why they aren’t cutting it. That part of the story to me is disturbing. The rest about over signing, not much at all. It is common place, has been forever, and will continue to be.\ Now I have given my opinion.
Not going to read that big wall text. Sorry. If LSU doesn't have a problem with being labeled an oversigning school, there is nothing for them to change. If they have a problem with the piece the solution is to change their behavior. LSU has a choice. Blaming ESPN for showing what is going on is not the problem.
I understand this, I embrace it. I have come to terms with it, it does not bother me. I am sorry that you sir are so bothered by it.
