I never gave an opinion one way or the other, thanks for just proving my point. And as for having a stack of "The Secret" books, nope only a fool would be looking for the secret. The only secret looks you in the face every morning. Respect that person and everything else is going to be just fine.
The evidence available to me suggested strongly that the Garretts had no idea that was coming. Then it appeared that LSU tried to suggest that it was Garrett's idea to transfer, I remember when it happened. The numbers on over-signing are freely available and they actually did put up numbers. Either way, whether you want to believe it or not LSU is known for oversigning... this is nothing new even though it might be new to you. You can go search for the countless articles on oversigning... usually LSU and Alabama are usually referenced as the leaders in that area. Hating on me isn't going to change anything. LSU will be over-signing this year and you will get even more stories on their practice. The solution is simple.
Yes you did with your tone. You give all kinds of opinions. Talk about negative, you follow me around just to hate on me. Funny stuff. Either way you can expect more stories like this about LSU, watch in the Fall when LSU has to cut all kinds of kids. 85 is 85, today and tomorrow and in the Fall, oh except if you're a coach at LSU.
The problem with raising the bar in high school is then you have a whole slew of kids not eligible and wind up with nothing to do after school. Not a good mix. If high school sports keeps a kid off the street then you have have it set up to gather as many of those kids as possible. The ones who get it will improve their grades. The others may squeak by but as long as they participate in HS sports it's keeping them viable and out of trouble. That said you are dealing with young teens. My son plays basketball and has the talent to possibly do something with it but I can poke, prod, encourage until I'm blue in the face and he just doesn't get he needs to maintain a B average to ever get looked at by bigger schools. Colleges are faced with borderline qualifiers with a ton of talent so the take a chance. Sometimes it works out and others it doesn't. While I don't agree with some of the tactics they use in over-sigining I understand why they do it.
"attrition" Boy, this forum is something else. You do know what the story was about right? I think not, just FYI the story was about LSU's operation of over-signing and showed their attrition methods. LSU is free to not renew, a former player is free to show you what might happened and ESPN is free to report on it. I fail to see the problem with the piece, if you don't like the negative press... don't do it. Man this forum is funny.
Ok LSU over signs. Let me give you a number. 12. The number of schools in the Top 25 recruiting that have already signed more recruits than LSU. All I'm saying is that just because ESPN made a article bashing LSU doesn't mean they couldn't bash MANY other schools for the same thing.
Please provide links then, I'm dying to see this "evidence." Numbers through 2006 are given on page 2 of this thread. Go read those and come back to talk to me about LSU and Bama being "leaders" in this area. Again, please provide links. I don't hate you at all. But if you think you're going to come here and stir the pot and not be challenged, then think again. I don't even understand what your point is. LSU oversigns, and so does everybody else. Since you think it's such a grave injustice why aren't you calling for the heads of every HC in the conference?
1.) Nobody said LSU is the only one, stop being paranoid. 2.) Most of those other schools have more scholarships to offer, LSU has somewhere around 9-12 if I remember correctly. LSU is already way over. They were not bashing, those were facts, if Garrett played for Bama you would be just fine with the piece.
Yes you do, you are even delusional about that. "LSU oversigns, and so does everybody else" Incorrect, some do, some don't. Some people rob banks, I don't. I don't care if someone else things it's ok, I don't. I never called for anyone's head, you are making stuff up. I said there was nothing wrong with the piece. If LSU doesn't like the negative tone of the piece they are free to change their way of operations in that area. The choice is theirs not mine. There was nothing wrong with the piece. The rest of your questions about numbers and articles on this subject can be answered by using Google. You can even find sites that track all these numbers. Sorry, LSU doesn't have 19 positions this year without players being shown the door.
