If the kid couldn't even get playing time at NW, what makes him think he'll play at Ole Miss? :geauxtige
Didn't Chris Garrett leave before Zach Lee got drafted by the Dodgers? That would have made him 4th string.
Thoughts: 1) It's too bad LSU got the brunt of the coverage... that was unfair. 2) For college athletics, it's a worthy topic and ESPN was bringing light to the issue. 3) Even befor the story aired, the SEC was looking into corrective measures (note: worthy topic) to correct the misuse of player scholarships. 4) Concentrating your wrath on the player rather than the disease is senseless. 5) All players and coaches should take the term "full ride" out of their vocabulary. 6) If coaches can strip a player of his scholarship without penalty, players should be able to transfer without penalty (sitting out a year, not being able to sign with another school in the conference, etc.) In other words, the agreement is either contractual or it's not... for both sides.
1)No chit. It was a clear hack job/attack 2)No problem with ESPN bringing it to light...but shine it evenly 3)His scholarship wasn't "misused" except by him. 4)I believe we had pretty much forgotten about Garrett, and are concentrating our wrath on ESPN...pay attention. 5)There's no such thing as a "full ride", just like you can't get "something for nothing". 6)If players don't live up to their end of the CONTRACT, they can GTFO. You can say all you want about the way the contract works, but at the end of the day, the contract rules. Until they change the contract, it is what it is. No rules were broken by LSU. Chris Garrett flat out stated TO HIS FUGGIN COACH that he doesn't wanna try too hard until JJ and Lee are gone. Fuggem. Have fun holding clipboards at OM while daddy pays your way.
:geaux: Believe he did. I remember thinking he must have saw the handwriting on the wall about his chances of getting any PT was less than slim to none. Figured he'd just chug on up to NSU and be the big star. :rolleye33: :LSU231:
I would say I am paying attention. Btw, It is true LSU broke no rules... that's because the SEC has no rules on the number of scholarships a conference school can give out in any one year. Hence, the problem... (I would say "pay attention", but , what the hell, it's Christmas...):yelwink2:
so they used LSU for this story Taken from the top 25 (min 30 signed) since 2006 2010 Auburn signed 32 2009 OLE MISS SIGNED 37 Ark 31, 2008 Miami signed 33 Bama 32 VT 31 Minn/FSU 30 2007 Tenn signed 32 USCe 31 Auburn 30 2006 FSU signed 31 Ole Miss 30 TT 34 I wont go back any further than that but Miles has signed: 29, 24, 26, 26, and 26 in those years. Also....Miami pulled QB Jacory Harris' scholy after he was a freakin STARTER for the last two year?!?! I let 99% of the media's BS looking for stories crap roll off my shoulder but this was ridiculous. At the minimum, they should have put up numbers like above to prove their point about this supposed issue.
if espn is too disingenuous to point out THIS is the real reason garrett was dropped, and others are too stupid to realize it, then there isnt much hope for reality in this world. :rolleye33: i cant help but wonder if fat lazy ass garrett and his pampering parents are planting the seeds for a lawsuit.
It isn't LSU's problem, and they used the whole thing to slam LSU. As stated, and as is VERY obvious if you know what the crap you're talking about, (rules you out), this little punk came to LSU thinking he was the chit. I guess he figured since the others were sucking it up, he'd be given the job...even though he wasn't willing to earn it. When they didn't just hand him the job, he didn't like it. Miles told him he had to earn it, and he told him he'd try hard when JJ and JL were gone. THAT is the reason he doesn't have a scholly at LSU, hoss. The reason he isn't at NSU anymore is because he really sucks THAT bad! And he thinks it's LSU's fault. - So you go on gracing us with your presence and telling us in your little not so sly underhanded way that the SEC/LSU are dirty players and need to transform to the civilized world like the Big tweleven. You're extremely transparent and arrogant IMO.
