By no means, but there was a long time that he could not run on the leg. Exercise keeps him fit, but it cannot substitue for running at full speed.

i had a left groin muscle tear last year and was out for about 3 months. it was similar in the fact that it was somewhat dehabilitating. i couldnt take long strides, had to go up stairs extremely slowly, etc. im sure AB has been eating much less than he would be while playing so i dont worry about the weight. plus im sure he was doing tons of upperbody stuff like somebody said and that will benefit him. my only problem coming back(granted only about 3 months) was just getting used to running around again and of course the mental thing. for me, it took about a week before my legs felt like they had full flexibility, range, freshness, etc. and i suspect that a month should be plenty for AB.
my only worry about him is the mental aspect. especially with knee injuries, most players start envisioning horrible twists and turns. an image or thought of exactly how he could get hit in the knee will likely never be out of his head when he lines up each time but after taking a few dangerous hits, some weird cuts and turns, etc. he will likely regain confidence. its those first few times doing things that you think your body probly shouldnt that will test a player. another issue would be scar tissue. im not exactly sure how it works with the knee but i had a lower back strain a month or so ago and am still getting occasional scar tissue problems where if i turn back for a ball or something, it feels like the injury all over again but after ice for 20 minutes and rest it is all better.

all in all, i have trust that AB is in great hands and will be full go by a month before season atleast
