I think the coaching staff would be more than happy to move him back to FB if we had some proven RBs in the backfield.

LOL, I was just referring to the fact that even early last season when all was well in the LSU backfield, the coaches found it nessacary to not only put Hester in the backfield, but to throw him the ball or hand it to him every time he ran on the field.

What is your problem with Hester? He's a good player. He averaged 4.6 yards a carry last year with two TD's and averaged 5.7 yards receiving. That's better than Vincent or Carey and almost as good as Addai's 4.9. He's a damn fine blocker, too.

    You be raciss!

I have no problem with him, and I think he has done what is asked of him. There is nothing to complain about from his standpoint. I just think he is best served leading the way for a real runningback, and maybe getting the very occasional touch.

It just seemed like we gave him the ball every time he ran onto the field last year.

I'm with Chosen on this one. What the hell do full time paid coaches know? Ask us!

LVTGRFN, you may be right, getting over the mental hurdle sometimes can be harder than hte physical one. We also never really heard anything that said he was that far gone mentally either. think at the time he probably going through the part of the healing process where the muscles and ligaments are having to pulled away from each other and that is what i hear can be the most painful and most troubling thing. I'm praying that he has gotten past that part now and will 100% ready by the start of camp, get hit a few times and be good to go one the first snap of 2006.

Broussard's knee is at 90% or better. He could physically play right now. But mentally, he isn't in to it. He didn't quit the team because of his knee, but because of mental things caused by the knee.

Can you think of a better cure for mental uncertainty than the roar of 92,000 strong the first time the Tigers take the field this fall?

The question won't be the knee.. it will be whether he is in shape... he is already a big guy, so if he jumps from 230 to 245, that takes away alot of his speed and explosiveness... weight is often the factor after a knee injury...
