Kinda spinning a rumor that really has no legs.... ;)

The only rumor that I've heard that remotely SOUNDS like it COULD start to catch on is that Texas is preparing for life after Mack Brown and word from big-time boosters out in Texas and the administration have signed off on a contract offer that would pay Saban as high as $10 million/season.

THAT is a scenerio more believable than Saban to Penn State...

It is more believable, but not by much. I think Penn St. was once Alabama coach's dream job, but I can't imagine it is anymore. There's no way he goes there now with everything going on there. Not to mention recruiting. What recruit is going to want to go there now?

Which is why I believe if Satan is ever going to leave Bama for greener pastures (and we could ALL agree that if you've got the green, Saban's got the moving van ready), Texas currently stands to be the only school in a situation (thanks to their TV deal) and name recognition that could provide everything Saban wants.

No way Saban leaves Alabama. I have never heard of him wanting to leave unless I hear it on this board. When he was at LSU, everybody knew he wanted to coach in the NFL at some point. There was no secret to it.

I would lean toward Kirk Ferenz, Al Golden, or Greg Schiano.
