SEC Network just posted playoff chances by conference, from something called the Allstate Playoff Predictor. The APP says the SEC has a better chance of putting 2 teams in the playoff (63%), then the Big 10, Big 12 and PAC 12 have of putting in 1 team (57% for Big 10, lower for the other 2)
Fla, Bama and A&M. Better not get caught reading our press clipings. We got work to do besides don't think O or team captains will allow that, hopefully
Not that I particularly care where our ranking is this early in the season so as long as we are ranked, But Georgia #3 ahead if LSU #4/5 respectively....The same team we thumped last year and after beating the same team they lost to in their bowl game? Makes sense...
The basic problem with polls is that they always begin with the built-in bias of the last poll. Based on the merits of 2 games and nothing more, I don't see how anyone can rank LSU anywhere but #1 or #2. Only Clemson has a comparable quality win, and Texas>A&M. Bama, UGa, tOSU and Okie don't come close. But everything starts with, where were you ranked last week?
And we know that coaches are busy on Saturdays and do not have time to watch all the games before the Coaches Poll comes out the next day. So they have some assistant take the easy way out by adjusting off of last week's poll and sending in the vote. AP voters don't have quite the excuse but use the same baseline.
