That probably is a bigger concern to me than anything else. Skip is on his way out in June, so he won't be making this decision. He'll just be a facilitator of the hiring process.

Can Lomdardi and O'Keefe get it done? How much influence will the BOS and boosters have in this process? Emmert was a strong leader in this area. We'll see if they can bring in a top notch coach.

I would imagine the clauses are still in effect. Without knowing the details I would suspect there is also language that the contracts could be terminated and the coaches would be paid for whatever the duration was, 1 or 2 years.

I just can't see tying a new coach's hands with keeping the incumbent staff.

Welcome to the forum and thank you for the kind gesture. I do know UM has handled hiring process with as much as integrity as it possible as with you bball coach last year- waiting until after the tournament, etc. It's just aggrevating, as you can imagine, of the timing.

Stick around and let us know what's going on during the off season. If you have contact with the team, tell LaTerryal Savoy his people from Mamou said hello. :thumb:

Lombardi hired Spurrier at Florida. I think he may be ok at this.

Well, I understand, but it still sucks to have it announced right before the SECCG that both our HC and DC are leaving LSU. :nope:

I hope our next coach keeps the program going strong.

Now, geaux Tigers, and kick some ass!

True, I would also guess they could pay them off those years.

Carr negotiated a deal for all assistants - two year contracts. This cleared the way for Carr to step down without concern that his assistants, many of whom have young families, would be out the door without recourse. Miles, or any replacement HC, is not obligated to keep those assistants. Michigan will honor those contracts with the assistants whether they're on staff or not.

How difficult was it to bring in a up and coming young coach who was a former heisman player at Florida?

Not having a new AD in place leaves a void in the process. Just hope some of the power brokers at LSU don't try to fill it.

As I stated before, this deal was done following the Aubarn game. Miles agent brokered it. This was done early "strictly" for the Michigan assistants who would be staying per Les. The rest would be free to look for employment when Carr resigned. Mile was the ONLY coach Michigan wanted. When Les agreed, Carr did his thing very quickly for his ASSISTANTS!

Michigan could give a rats ass about LSU. They're the BIG HOUSE, BIG TEN, OHIO STATE HATERS, BO & WOODY, etc.. Watch the HBO documentary.

LSU Money People have met and the list is generated. I've heard some big numbers that will be offered to get a new coach, one who should want to retire at LSU!.

    Stay tuned........
