The saints will be supported by any new city they go to, but for a very short while. I don't think San Antonio or any other city realizes the pain and suffering the saints have caused their fans over their 39 years of loser football. Look for which ever city that gets them to show massive support for the team and love ben$on at first, then give them 3 or 4 years of being the laughing stock of the NFL and see what kind of support and love they show. It's amazing that ben$on can get one fan to show up and support the team here after all these years and shows that given a real team New Orleans could support a team like no other city.
What does Archie have to do with the Saints? He has no affiliation with them, aside from being a commentator during the preseason and the former quarterback.
    Obviously you are not familiar with the common criticism of Benson. Benson = Archie Bunker. when in my post did I use the word "Manning"?
Sorry, I didn't get it either. Any time someone uses the name Archie with the Saints, obviously the first person that comes to mind is Archie Manning. Now that you mention it though, there is a lot of resemblence with Archie Bunker and Tom Ben$on.
I wasn't referring to short term here? :dis: I"m smart enough to realize that they can't play in NO this year. Geez Do I think its the first time to leave? Honestly, I don't know. What I do know is that they were no where around to help the community and that the Mannings used thier own time and money to take supplies to a shelter with NO residents in it and the Saints did absolutely nothing individually. I don't think Benson has done anything individually either. I do know that they sure didn't waste any time getting the hell out of NOLA permanently. They could've acted like they cared or been discrete about it! :dis:
This is why I'm an Eagles fan. And if T.O. bitches about money, he can go somewhere else. :911:
OK, so when? 2007? 2009? 2012? New stadiums take time when they're being built on solid ground AND are the top priority. Neither is the case in NOLA. Fair enough. It's not. How do we know that? Do the Mannings own a team? Why are you comparing PLAYERS with OWNERS? But OK, let's do just that. I know for a FACT Joe Horn and Deuce and a bunch of other guys were in the community (both in NOLA and in Houston) trying to help out. It is irresponsible and disingenuous to assert that they haven't done anything, while picking out ONE family that did. That's complete BS, and is extremely unfair to the Saints players (and probably management) that went out of their way to help. Should the Saints have wasted time in determining the future of the franchise? They shouldn't have just moved ahead? Nothing like wasting time, to make people feel better. I understand it's bad timing for people that really expected the Saints to come back. But I have YET to hear anybody that is moaning about them moving to suggest an even somewhat palatable solution for them to stay (and no, play in S.A. indefinitely until NOLA is ready to take them back is NOT palatable.)
I'm not interested in arguing over the saints. I never heard anything about any Saints individuals helping out. I watch plenty of sports news plus have connections in Baton Rouge. If the Saints players did help out then I take it back. Playing in SA until NOLA is ready? That is not what I heard on ESPN yesterday. They said they most likely played thier last game in NOLA. If its true about the Saints players you win that round. Fair enough? Its stupid to argue what year the Saints would come back besides from everything I heard they aren't coming back!
There arent going to be any expansions for a very long time. Every NFL division is split up into nice little even groups of 4. They are not going to add 1 team and have only 1 division with 5 teams. They would need to add 8 teams to make it even or either revamp all of the divisions again.
My belief is that once they put a team in Los Angeles, they will call their work done. Thirty-two teams is a nice round number that makes everything even, and they will have no major market uncovered. Louisiana's only chance to see pro-football (if you can call it that with a straight face) is keeping the Saints right now.
