ESPN just reported tha Auburn has hired Gene Chizik

I cant wait to tune in to Finebaum tomorrow....

 

Regardless of how you feel about the hire, that is embarrassing in every way. I couldn't even watch the whole thing. Some people.

 

The behavior in the video is just uncool.

 

Yes that's pretty bad no matter how you feel about the hire. I expect to see a lot more aubies on suicide watch and exhibiting similar behavior in the near future. With the rise of Bama from the ashes and the implosion in their athletic dept the chickens are on pace to become the Vandy of the west without the high academic standards.

 

First glance at his HC resume looks horrid, but what he does have going for him is he was the DC for Auburn in 04' when they went undefeated and then the DC for Texas in 05' the year they won the NC. I'll reserve further comment till I see how he can recruit in the SEC. He may surprise us all and recruit lights out.

On a side note, what's the deal with DC's going from Auburn to Texas? Muschamp and Chizik in particular.

Initially I thought Chizik was getting off of that plane. Thankfully it was only the guys in charge of hiring. I would hate to think anyone would shout such things to a new head coach. His tirade doesn't seem as bad considering Chizik wasn't yet announced as the new head coach at that point.

 

Who's to say he can't recruit lights out... he was the DC in 04 at Auburn, how do we know he didn't have any recruiting responsibilities. He may very well be a great SEC recruiter.

 

That's my point. There are some of us talking as if Saban will dominate the state of Alabama now because of this hire. I'm saying he may surprise us all and recruit with the best of them.

 

Thank you. Glad you recognize it. They have a good year and beat us for the first time in 7 years and they show their ass in mass (no pun intended).
Heck if this guy Chizik don't do well we will take him down to Destin, Fla. and introduce him to Mike Price's old girlfriend, Destiny. Ya'll do remember Price don't you? He's the only HC in history hired by a school (bama) that never coached a single game there.
