Thanks for this. I too was among the people that thought the score was evident of some UGA shortcomings. I did not see the game and I thought the talking heads were even more retarded than ever because they pumped up UGA so much....even though Georgia Southern posted that many points against them.
The reason I know Gameday is not at Notre Dame this weekend is because Fowler was on Dallas radio this morning and said it. He also said LSU's defense is the real deal, but QB is a huge question mark. He said LSU's schedule on the road is very brutal, and that they will not repeat based on the schedule. He also added USC has a weak PAC 10 schedule, but they get his #1 vote because of the schedule and their chance to be undefeated at season's end. Our Defense is getting the respect, our offense RIGHT NOW is holding us back some. The season is ong, many things can happen. By the way, we dropped to #4 in the latest coaches poll behind Georgia.
Fowler used to have his own opinion and a levelhead but not for the last few years when ESPN went awry with their idiot announcers. Here we go again with an idiot thinking you should be #1 if you can go undefeated? Hell in that case make Utah #1 since they have a shot as well. Aren't you supposed to vote who you think has the best team? My god...we dont need computers or strength of schedule? The entire media base has turned into a bunch of bumbling idiots...even the few that remained.
You think Ga. did the same thing we did and played a bad game against a really fired up team that has worked for months to beat them? One game does not answer any questions, it only makes for more questions that need to be answered. Those answers will come in the next few weeks. I only hope that we like the answers. :thumb:
Very true . . . and this year, every team we play will have their sites set on beating LSU. It comes with the high rankings, winning the NC, and being a top program. You can bet we will see the best all the teams have to offer. OSU is not as good as we saw the other night, but they played better than they could because they were excited about playing and beating LSU. It's the same target the Tigers will wear all season, everyone is going to want to take us down. I bet even Vandy will play beyond their talent when we see them, that is the level we reached.
I tend to agree....OSU probably will not play near the level the rest of the season as they did saturday. Thats why college football is full of fickle media. They see the last game then everything that happened beforehand is totally forgotten in their minds. OSU will suffer a letdown this week and play at a third of their intensity as last week. Not an excuse, just how the emotions work usually....and they'll probably lose. I'm not gonna sweat it or read too much into it. LSU will shellack ASU yet I won't read one thing into that either...the same way I knew Zona was awful last year when we wiped the floor with them. Executing the plays will be the only thing to look for vs ASU....and the number of mental mistakes....turnovers/penalties/dropped balls, etc. About the only thing certain right now is we have a team that could have quit in the face of serious adversity yet found a way to win. I'd say that's a good start in building the character of a new team. Seemed to me the team showed up expecting a win instead of earning it. Let's hope that mentality is over and done with.
