Man, white is a tradition. They always wear white at home. It's like Mike making his trip around the stadium, the walk down the hill, the pre-game salute. Tradition man, tradition. It's what makes college football.
I love the white jerseys. I respect tradition in college sports. If we had no tradition, college sports, especially football, wouldn't be the same.
The purple jerseys look great. I like the white, but they are a little plain. I'm with Tiger RagAndrew. The result of our insisting on wearing white at home is that we rarely get to wear purple. Purple is a Tiger tradition too. And anyway, new traditions can be started.
WRONG! The Tigahs have worn purple at least back to the 50's and probably the 40's. I remember a 30-0 loss to Miami in the Orange Bowl in the late 60's and they forced us to wear the purple jerseys. The only time we wore purple in those days was on the road when the home team wanted to wear white and we were forced to wear the purple. Like the Dallas Cowboys from those days who considered their blue "dark/away" jerseys "unlucky", we were also superstitious about our purple jerseys. I always liked the purple jerseys b/c they are so unique. Other teams have jerseys like the white jerseys (Minnesota Vikings), but no other team has a jersey like the purple ones.
I dont care if they wear pink poka dot purple & gold bowties as long as they keep on winning with Coach Saban and makin me proud to be a Tiger fan again.
