Wait you're calling me out for referring to females as girls? Are you serious? I even said in my post that it is probably different for them. Get off your high horse.
I wouldn't say "calling you out". Using one word over the other is a fine line of distinction that can be taken the wrong way. I don't think you meant anything bad by it, you seem to be a straight up sort of person. Am I being over-sensitive? Sure. For a reason. When discussing a personal and private violation of this proportion, you came across, to me, as very dismissive, almost like EA should have actually approved of the video, rather than sue over it or even feel bad about it. Saying that "girls" would probably feel differently was clearly lacking insight. What this guy did was clearly against the law. The hotel abided that by giving out her room number. She had a professional reputation working in a very male-dominated industry. Everything about that was violated and made public. There can't be much more humiliating than that. So for me, saying that girls would feel differently isn't even close to understanding.
I said it is different for females in my original post and I meant it. I understand women in a male dominated arena etc. What happened to her was terrible and should not happen to anyone. If the hotel let someone just call in and say they wanted a room next to her, then they certainly have some culpability. However, emotionally wrecked seems a little strong. She's been on TV almost every day since and is still a premier sportscaster. If you're emotionally wrecked, how are you able to work 80 hours a week like she does. Maybe it's the term that's throwing me off because to me if you're "emotionally wrecked" you can't hold down a job or function normally day to day.
I'm sure the creep who took the videos doesn't have anywhere near $75 million. While the hotel is culpable to some degree how much blame should they be expected to shoulder? The hotel employees were duped by the guy too.
You know, all this hoopla has made me watch the video again and its not really that clear at all. The things that I take from it are this. 1. The woman in the video has really nice tits 2. The woman in the video has a fairly nice ass 3. It almost seems as if the woman in the video knew she was being filmed. Probably difficult (was going to use hard but not in this case )to prove but an argument can surely be made that she was playing it up for the camera 4. The lighting isn't all that great and you never get a definitive view of her face. Is it Erin Andrews? If I'm on a jury and I have to convict on that evidence alone I can't do it. I simply cannot tell for sure that it is her or not. Bang!
The guy who took the vid was a frequent traveler and hotel guest. He knew better than most how to game the system. Hotel clerks are not highly trained security personnel. They are underpaid employees just trying to get through their day doing the best job they can. If that is the hotel chain's fault then all hotels are just as lax and guilty by accepted industry standards. I'm sure Erin Andrews was very upset about it but "emotionally wrecked" is way too strong a term. An appropriate response by the hotel would be to give her lifetime comped rooms and meals.
That's what I said when it came out. She should have denied the whole thing. No way you can tell it's her.
