Because they restricted it to acid rain. This boondoggle is trying to bring the entire country to it's knees by adopting California's standards. We can see where that got them.
There are things in that bill that we haven't even heard about yet. This is Government coming into our lives whether we want it or not.

Actually, I can understand why you voted McCain and I can understand why a number of others here voted for McCain. I just think it is odd for people to complain so much about Obama when most of us know McCain would have been just about as costly as Obama has been domestically. I can't say if I agree with the climate bill because I don't know alot about it, but I don't have the utmost confidence in private factories taking the health of the neighbors they pollute in high enough regard. I also believe that human impact on the environment is concerning. But I do not believe in the effectiveness of government chasing after private companies. So I'm not sure, I'd have to read it.

I want representatives who are making decisions based on conviction, not in response to irrational conflicts within themselves. That said, I'd consider a closet gay republican's arguments against gay rights based on their merits, not based on whether we know his dong sucking preference. I was speaking more on the level of Hannity and those who consume his nonsense.

I'd forgotten who I was speaking to. I do believe the way we interact with foreign nations affects us. As a nation we have embraced globalization, and as such the way we deal with other nations is of vital importance. Sure people will deal with the big dog simply because they have the right of might, but that doesn't mean they'll like it and it makes it more likely that resentment or contempt will build and may one day rear its ugly head. I believe that carrying oneself respectfully and considerately pays dividends. You seem too unilateral in your thinking, in my opinion.

that makes no sense. they have nothing to do with each other. obama is terrible. mccain is not the issue and has nothing to do with it. i dunno why folks are tied up in this silly ad hominem. that bush or mccain suck is not an argument that proves obama is not terrible.

dont be stupid, the bill is horrible.

who did you vote for? ron paul? he hates the climate bill.

again, just because jon stewart thinks fox news is a big concern, i wouldnt worry too much about it. dont watch him.

aww. we want them to like us. we should be be sweethearts. maybe we should send them a cargo ship full of ponies and rainbows.

really, in practical terms, what does it mean this national image crap? think of an actual example. like i said, would a country be hesistant to help us with north korea? of course not. would they refuse to trade with american comapnies? nope. would they refuse to export to us? not unless they hate prosperity and the jobs they will get from selling to our markets.

thats another vague thing that the media says that has no meaning. countries act in their own interest. to do otherwise would be irrational.

straight from the bill itself. of course the studies arent listed in the bill informing the stupid masses that say hey, this is going to cost you millions of jobs and millions in taxes.

anyone with a high school understanding of economics knows this bill is absolutely horrible. do I really have to explain how the government regulating when you take a crap, turn on your lights or wash your clothes is bad?

im amazed the reluctance and/or failure of anyone to be unsure just how ridiculous the bill is.

im not the one voting with the fundies. my rule of thumb is, if im not quite sure about the appropriate position on an issue, go opposite the fundies.
