so your contention is that if we need to fight north korea out of south korea, the world community will abandon south korea because they do not want to be a part of anything the american are involved with?

the world community would assist on a case-by case basis and not out of pettyness. like i dont expect we get any help if we invade canada. but if we defend india from pakistan we will have plenty of help.

That wasn't the question you evaded.

"Answer me this: Why did cap-and-trade work so effectively to diminish acid rain? Industry lobbyists bitched then too and made dire warnings of disaster that did not come to pass, like they always do. But the plan worked. Sulphur emission have been steadily reduced and it did not drive industry overseas or put millions on the street. They modernized plants gradually at their own pace using cap and trade. They would have to do this periodically to keep up with the market anyway and they were able to use the incentives to move to greener processes at the same time."

And for the last time, I neither favor nor oppose the new bill until I know more about it and I'm finding more out every day. None of it from you, of course.

my contention is that when we need assistance from the world, we will get it, or not get it. we cannot count on anyone, especially the UN, and we shouldnt craft our policy around anyone's interest but our own. if it angers people that we liberate countries and return them to the people so they can be free and democratic, too bad. if it angers folks that we invade countries that harbor terrorists and hunt for people that murder our citizens, too bad.

if the world community hates free iraq, too bad for them. if they do not care that we sent our fellas to die and liberate iraq, then screw em.

    You understand nothing. Obviously.

And you didn't answer the question. Obviously.

i am talking about the current bill. for all i know, you will agree with me after the polls come out and everyone hates it. so why should i bother arguing with you if you have no position? take a stance, then we will talk.
