1. that isnt smart. for the most part, the fundamentalist christian idiots are also generally in favor of smaller government.

so, after you give yourself an award for disagreeing with the fundamentalists infantile stance on gay marriage or prayer in schools, take a step back and try to make your own decisions, not make decisions relative to someone who you think of as terrible. because the christians are terrible, but they dont gave a monopoly on stupidity.

there is nothing wrong with voting with the christians. and there is nothing wrong with voting with the leftys. there is something stupid about staking a position blindly opposed to either or both.

the correct stances happen to be wildly nore liberal than democrats on some things and wildly more conservative than republicans on other things.

also it should be noted that barack hussein obama is himself a religious lunatic.
  2. he isnt for it! stop putting words in his mouth! he is neither for or against it! he has not decided!

it takes time to decide if you want the economy mangled for no good reason. need to read the fine print of exactly how the destruction of wealth prosperity will happen before you can take a stance.
  3. It's easy enough to claim. I just asked for some sources for what you claimed, so I can see for myself. There are bullchit stories everywhere.

Most of the bills are insane, so what is new? If we expect politicians to be straightforward they could do nothing.

Not just because you say so. You pointed out some things that may be a bill killer if true, I just want some evidence that they are true. Is that so friggin' much to ask?

So what if Obama vetoes the amendments and passes the core cap-and-trade plan? Is it still "insane"?
  4. of course. i expect them to do almost nothing, instead they do lots of terrible things. most of the problems they are trying to solve are just things they caused by trying to solve something else.

part of the problem is that people are always looking to the government to manage things they shouldnt be managing in the first place.
  5. My point, which you've missed, is that many here were defending Bush on similar issues and would have been defending McCain had he won. That's the hypocrisy I'm referring to.

Which is why I said I probably wouldn't vote for it.

Well, Ron Paul wouldn't not vote for it because he doesn't value the health of the environment that humans live in. It seems to me he'd argue that private industry would take care of nature on their own, and I'm not as confident in private industry or the free market to do the right thing. That said, I think I agree with Paul that trying to micromanage everything is counterproductive.

You're the one who is informing me of what Jon Stewart believes. I rarely watch his show. This is the same juvenile sht you're employing against Red, rather than trying to have an honest discussion.

Nah, you're the one who wants to end domestic welfare so that we can transfer those funds to foreign governments. What's the going rate for ponies and rainbows, and would those be domestically produced? By you, one can hope?

If we went in tomorrow with guns blazing without international support, we'd be saddled with the bill and the casualties, and I don't think many in the international community would appreciate it, let alone help. I'm less interested in national image than you are making out. I'm less about image and more about taking actions in foreign policy that aren't unilateral unless absolutely necessary.

Man, you become derailed so easily. You've got a preconceived notion of what those who disagree with you believe and you jump to that rather than attempt to consider what those who disagree with you are actually saying. Having an intelligent discussion is one thing, but disagreeing just to show your ass is another.
  6. These two segments from your message contradict each other.

First you're slamming Republicans and defending Democrats then accuse someone else for their preconceived notions. You should consider looking in the mirror. :hihi:

So typical of liberals. They can't see their own hypocrisy even though they're the experts at spewing it.

BTW...this liberal-leading hoax of climate change caused by Americans over the last 20 years is going to cost us trillions and the only impact will be to make a few politicians and their friends rich. Book it!
  7. lol a conservative preaching about hypocrisy.
    good laughs, good laughs.
  8. i dont see why you care about that. that isnt the issue we are discussing. people are either right or wrong about things, it doesnt really matter if they are hypocrites.

i just appears to me that instead of examining things for what they are, you are into finger pointing and repeating popular sayings.

correct. i have had to remind this guy like five times that every person who opposes big government is not a pupil of fox news.
  9. Well put. :thumb:
  10. you guys are friends now, i like it. you can hang out and discuss how the climate bill is too complicated for you to decide. although it might be troublesome for red to be friends with an extremist who makes such definitive statements like "i probably wouldnt vote for it".
