I don't know if Job is the best example of God having your back. Job got screwed by God in the most extreme way, just to prove a point to Satan. Oh and not to mention how bad it would suck if you were one of Jobs 10 kids who were killed directly by God. The assumption that God has your back because you are a believer is a stretch, if you actually look into the nature of God. Vengeful. Murderous. Hateful. That is what the Bible describes God as. If God purposefully tormented Job, who by all accounts was one of the most faithful servants of God, why would He have your back? Seems like His will would be the one that counts, not yours. His will may not include watching your back.
