Yeah the basketball program was in tatters, but what kind of shape do you think the football program was in when Saban was hired? Think of how much mroe staff and depth of players is needed to make a football team that can compete for a NC. subtract the probation years, and Brady has had essentially enough time. I'd trade a coach who has little integrity and who wins 1/3 of his SEC games for a coach who is equally poor at his profession, but has some integrity.
I'd rather have 5 coaches who got their arse kicked by Kentucky then the same one for 25 years, that's for sure.
