Actually 12CrimsonTide12 you bring up a very good point with your sarcastic post. How important were Matt Mauck and Michael Clayton? No one will replace Clayton as an all around football player he was too good at receiving, picking up yards after receptions, blocking, hitting, and special teams. Fortunately, LSU has more talent than ever and there is someone who can handle all of the above mentioned just as well as Mike. I have said time and time again that Mauck and his uncanny winning ability, a record of something like 18-2, would be missed. After watching the Spring Game and listening to reports about Fall practice, I believed that Marcus Randall would be able to manage the games efficiently enough for LSU to have a good season and a shot at another SEC Title. I now question if Marcus can fufill this task as he looked terrified to make a mistake and it hurt his ability to make plays. In his defense I believe that the play calling was suspect early in the game with the conditions the way that they were. The pleasant surprise was Jamarcus's performance and his game playing ability to go along with his unbelievable size and arm strength. I believe that Jamarcus has abilities that Mauck only dreamed of and in my opinion the rest of the SEC and nation had better be ready for LSU to remain at the top for several years to come.
