Most of the fallout would have remained in the northern hemisphere as there is little circulation between north and south. South America, Africa, Austrailia and the South Pacific would have been largely unscathed.
you keep on reading big boy! Maybe you can win your local read-a-thon. other than that, you still have to decide what information you believe. To think man doesn't err on guesstimations that happened billions of years ago (or in the robot future) when they can't even get an accurate weather forecast for the week, well.... I am proud of you. you are smart. you are now 158.
Geez, where do I start? First of all humans haven't been around for a billion years, not even for a million years. Millions of our predecessor species went extinct before we appeared. Homo Sapiens has only been around for 50-100,000 years, for heaven's sake. Other human species that once existed such as Homo Erectus, Homo Habilis, and Homo Neanderthalensis have definitely gone extinct, quite possibly from an epidemic, among other posibilities. This assertion defies no logic whatsoever. I won't even try to respond to this silly notion. Perhaps you shouldn't have slept through through biology, geology, and physics . . . not to mention logic.
i was talking to sourdoughman, who was saying that people who dont believe the bible often dont know about it. i do know about it. i have read yet another book on chaos theory, so i undertand how some things are inherently unpredictable.in spite of the inherent unpredictability of things i guess you still are able to figure out he future enough to know i am wrong? thanks. look, you guys simply arent keeping up with the state of things, you are disputing things that only disputed by people who are ignorant. when you make things smarter and smarter, they eventually show signs of "emergent" behavior, or intelligence. lots of very dumb things, like ants, or computer circuits, or neurons in your brain, put enough of them together and they eventually are pretty smart. conciousness is just a result of intelligence. this has lots of applications, and explains how simple and stupid things can do very complicated things. in fact there are plenty of books abou tthis you could read, but i know you prefer ignorance. in fact there is a book on the best seller list now called "the wisdom of crowds" that discusses concepts like emergence and collective intelligence. you have alot to learn, but you should take that responsibility upon yourself. what you are doing now is like claiming "there is no other language except english" and when i explain to you that there are plenty of very complex languages and telling you spanish words, you refuse to accept it. why dont you go learn about the topic we are talking about. i could teach it to you, but that is a lot of work, i dont feel like doing it, just like i dont feel like teaching you something that involves alot of learning, like spanish. not being ignorant is your responsibility.
i have been looking around for a living australopithicus robustus but i cant find one. i thought they would live forever! not only are they not around, the branch of evolution they were on just ended with them. gone. red is 100% right, many, many species that are very similar to humans are no longer around. again, this cant really be disputed. you can oppose it, but that would only be because of ignorance or incredulity on your part.
Come on guys we were doing a good job with keeping this thread civil and a place where people coul dpost their views and discuss them everyone has a different point of view and no one knows for sure who is right or who is wrong. Lets try to keep it this way, please.
You are completely, utterly wrong, and you cannot seem to remember my previous points. Please pay attention and put on your thinking cap: Of course Homo Sapiens have only been around for 100,000+- years. I said "Human and their species links" (i made this inclusion every time just to prevent someone shouting out "Humans only been around a short period of time!" but you and Martin do it anyway--and if thats all you've got, just give it up. (links such as all the other homos you named) Remember when I said that forerunners die off as mutations and selection create new species? This is all that was. There was no "quite possibly and epidemic", its simply the new and improved version taking over, making extinct its forerunner. Is this hard to comprehend? Now, that's where you started, and pretty much ended, aside for the little slap at the end, which is evidence that i've won this debate. Oh, and both of you, here's a tip that will serve you both well: it's okay to disagree with a published work or what your professor has told you. Try to think a little independently. Read any of the Butter/Margarine articles in the early seventies?
where are the decendants of australopithicus robustus? they are gone. sometimes entire branches of the tree of evolution are stamped out by something. which is it? are humans here permamanantly like you said earlier, or are they replaced by new species and then die out like you just said? make up your mind. are you saying humans will contnue to exist in the sense that something else will exist?
