I hope none of them come back to haunt you when you go into politics, as all lawyers inevitably do... :thumb:
Martin, do you believe in free will? What does it mean when man reflects and regrets the choices that he has made?
Hilarious quote: Why does failing the test of falsifiability make something invalid? Morons. It's impossible to "prove" macroevolution too. We just don't live that long. [/font]
who is that quote from? that dude is saying that because you cant prove anything false, that does not make it true. for instance the creator could be a teapot, secretly orbiting around pluto, plotting his next move. we cant prove that wrong either. intelligent design is simply stupid science and there is no point to it. furthermore, the people who favor intelligent design are not scientists, they are religious people. they dont know what they are talking about and are talking about faith, not science. intelligent design is valid in the same sense that literally anything i make up is valid. so now god is not magic? it isnt magic when he injects a soul into you and makes you into one of his precious children instead of a useless meatbag? of course god is magic. jesus should come down again and do some street magic like david blaine, that would really freak some people out. yunno, knowing what card you have and that kind of thing. after he was done he could ascend back to his rightful place at the right hand of god (also he is god).
No. He is saying that if you cannot prove it false, it must be untrue. It has exactly as much point and weight as the unproven religion of science, humanism and macroevolution to which you are an adherent. It is just as impossible to prove macroevolution, simply because we don't live for a million years. untrue, but you'll say whatever you want in an effort to bash everyone of faith. ZZZZZZZ snore, burp, fart, ZZZZZZZZ yeah, that would be hilarious. martin would still tell him he was full of ****.
I think I am more offended by the fact that you dropped david blaines name instead of calling jesus a street magician. I mean come on dude david Blaine you couldnt come up with a better name then that. David Blaines reaction to Martins comments............
i'd like to see a scientist that favors intelligent design that is not religious. i dont think they exist. the whole point of intelligent design is so that creationists can try to sneak creationism into schools.
According to this website http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/bill_schultz/crsc.html#MNID this organization consists of ID promoters that aren't necessarily religious. http://www.discovery.org/csc/
Emergent Behavior sounds like a lot of smoke and mirrors. So, if something has enough computational power, such as a computer, it will emerge a consciouis and self-awareness? Bull****. How exactly does that happen? At what computational power is the threshold of awareness, where the machine says," Hey, look at me, i'm thinking, and you're thinking too, carbon unit. Don't make me kill you carbon unit, because i will preserve myself whether its programmed or not into my mainframe." Face it, the consciousness and selfwareness of the human mind is hotly debated, and no one can prove how it came about, or its fundmental properties. Intuitively, i know that a machine cannot become conscious of its existence by shear computational power. No way. Now, can man ever replicate a human mind, an artificial human mind, that's another question.
