The people that are oblivious to how much they're paying are probably the ones that would like it withheld! :thumb:

I don't think it would be all that difficult for people to do, since they can apparently pay their rent/mortgage, car payments, etc. However, it would also beg the question of whether the IRS could send a bill (instead of individual calculating their own.) I'm not sure people would want to go through TurboTax four times a year. I know I wouldn't.

"The IRS recently certified the model year 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid as being eligible for the clean-burning fuel deduction-meaning if you purchase one of these hybrid vehicles new during calendary year 2005, you may claim a tax deduction of up to $2,000.00. The deduction decreases to only $500 in 2006 and $0 after 2006."

I didn't read the article, because I'm already pissed enough & realize plenty just how much the government takes from my pocket.

Being that ya'll have carreers, I know you get hit alot worse than me, but on a tight college budget taxes are enemy numero uno, with gas now coming in at a close second.

You mean the normal guy who drives on roads everyday. Or maybe the guy protected by that huge military. Or maybe its the guy who goes to college on a Federal Pell grant. Americans need to quit crying over taxes. We pay far less than most industrilized nations. This bill is dumb. If you look at your pay stubb their is a line that says YTD earnings withheld. That should give you a clue on how much you are being taxed.

Yep, the same guy that averages 20 miles an hour on awful roads thanks to poor planning and mismanagement, or must drive on TOLL roads to get decent ones. And the same one who didn't go on a Pell Grant, and doesn't feel the need to be forced to pay for other ones to. And sure, the military is great. I like having a big one. I've also seen that the spending on the military is less than 5% of my tax bill, SO, bad example.

Why benchmark us to other countries (none of which are based on pure capitalism?) Just because they're screwed up, we should be screwed up too? Read the thread on Republican spending, and see if it makes sense to pay almost a quarter BILLION dollars in tax payers money for a bridge to a town of 50 people.
